OK you all know WC is my home but I entered a StarShip building contest over on DA so If you get a change drop by and show some support for a local WC guy. LINK

BTW... You know I will have to turn this ship into a cursor for everyone here!

First class Harley. I just signed up on DA and it has me loged in but won't let me post. Says I have to verify my email address. I did it 5 times and never received mail form them to verify it from the link they are suppose to email me. So sorry my friend I'm unable to help you there unless I get email and have no idea what I can do.

Way to go Harley! YES!

I have no problem logging on to DA. I'm a regular over there. You got my support 100% and then some.

On a pleasant note.........................I'M GONNA GET ME A STARSHIP CURSOR!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ME!

Okay...okay. So I'm going a little bit overboard...again.

I'm glad you thought enough about my suggestion concerning the engines. It makes this person's day big time. You rock man.

I did a 'big' cursor once....it was to imitate the vertical/horizontal 'crosshairs' like in a map co-ordinate.....where there are no 'ends' to the lines.

That meant the 'cursor' had to be TWICE the width and height of the proposed monitor resolution.  At that time my monitor screen was set to 800x600....so the cursor was 1600x1200.

Doing it today I'd need 3360x2100.  Back then it was as laggy as hell....poor Trident graphic card did NOT cope well.

Dunno how it'd go now...

All in fun guy. Sometimes a little over-the-top humor is a good thing.......in moderation of course.

I love the concept ! That would be huge but probably not any more in actuall file size that a heavily animated cursor.hmmmmm (smoke coming from ears) lol

If you did only the horz. line 3360 and a vert. line abuot 15 pix tall probably it would keep it around 20KB .But that might kill the effect .May have to play with that some!

Thank you Jim!!!!

Its all good Uvah!

Sweet Harley and hope you win with it. I made something like that but it took 35 years so I can't start another one, not enough time left.

Yea, sure I did, maybe in my dreams. Good luck again.

Damn nice design Harley. I checked out some of the other entries when I visited the web site. Some of them are pretty decent and some left much to be desired. I didn't know the contest was still on otherwise I could've wrote down some of the names i saw there. The ships I mean.

In the book I'm writing I have this fleet of starships that use 'slip drives'. Essentially going beyond warp technology and into the realm of the Slip Stream. What they do is exit this dimension and use the energy streams like a surfer does a huge wave. The higher in the stream they go the faster and use no more power than it takes to reach maximum warp. I did some ad-hoc calculations and found that at Slip one the starship is actually folding space to the equivalent of warp twenty! If I ever get the design down right I'll post it here.
