What are the Windows Explorer icons #32 - #37 and #42 & #43?

Tuesday, September 28, 2004 by J.SkinZ | Discussion: Skinning

Wass-aaaaap!?!?!?

Anyone know what these unlabelled Windows Explorer icons are for?

Not easy to skin them without a description, and since SkS doesn't seem to have any default icons anymore I've got nothing to go on...

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I think 32 is the desktop icon, 37 and 42 are printer error icons, and 43 is an info bubble.

now I just think this. I might be wrong

Sure would be nice if all the "numbered" icons were labeled. All I can tell you is look at other sets, and go from there. From what I've seen, 32 is generally a folder with a star, or a + sign (no idea what it's for) 36 and 37 seems to have something to do with phones??? 42, and 43 I haven't a clue what they are for. SOmething to do with 'new', and 'copy' ....

I see sets with a lot of the icons unskinned (default).  Maybe if we could somehow find out what these mystery icons are, we could get Adam to label them in SkS, coz I'm thinking he doesn't know what they are either.

Thanks guys!

The default icons don't even show now, so I can't modify them. I remember they used to 'cause I had them in my last skin (erm... sorry, I forgot). But I didn't know what they were for then and I'm no wiser now. Suppose I could have a look at them then poke around in windoze and see if I can name them...

Oh well

If I find what they are I'll post em here

Why don't you just backup your custom toolbar icons and delete the copy in skin studio and force it to load the default. Then, you can find out that way.

Maybe the folder with a star or plus is the "Add to Favorites" button.

Makes sense JD, but if that's what it is, one would think it would be available in IE.

Those icons are used in XP Überl33t edition. It's super secret, has twice the features of Pro, and crashes twice as much.
