Why 95% of all themes, Icon, Wallpaper etc Have to be High Tech Looking?

I mean for the most part every high tech theme looks just like the next one with a bit of a color change. Not everyone has a high tech looking office, nor wants a high tech look, how about some retro 1930/1940's, depression era, art deco, art nouveau looks.

ummm I honestly believe the high tech themes look extremely cool, i mean come on, no one wants those boring medievil themes no more althought a classical wallpaper woulden't hurt.

Skinners make skins for themselves - it's not about what you want I'm afraid. If you don't like what people have made in their own time and uploaded for free, then you should either make one for yourself or pay someone to do it for you.

If you're looking for a 30s/40s ish theme might I suggest my Minimalistic Avocado theme for DesktopX. It's highly functionable and allows for easy customization. Also it isn't quite as 'high tech' as most (ie. subtle effects).
Available in both 1156 by 864 and 1280 by 1024.

I'm with Ronald Nolan here, I absolutely hate the skins that are all high-tech and busy. The skin that won the best WB skin in the GUI olympics made me barf, it was so distracting to use. Give me Luna-HoE or YellowAlien any day

The 'tech' look is very popular so a lot of skinners produce that style.
