windowblinds questions please help me

Im new to the whole skinning thing. I just bought skin studio pro and was wondering how do i get the dimond plating that I have seen on the firefighter skin? I am still trying to figure out how to make window blinds using the skin studio pro. Is there a tutorial,or a step by step to make a basic skin. Please help me i have alot of ideas in my head and need to get them out
