Edges

Wednesday, January 14, 2004 by Richard Mohler | Discussion: Skinning

Kind of new to this stuff and was just screwing around with paint shop and made a start panel user pane for windowblinds, anyway made it thinner than the regular picture and around the edges I have some magic pink stuff, and was wondering how to clean it up. Richard

It sounds like there is some pink in the image that's not really magic pink. Magic pink is R255, G0, B255. if one of those is a little of, it'll look the same to the naked eye, but windowblinds doesn't see it as magic pink. Also, anti-aliasing doesn't work with magic pink.

I you are truley using magic pink as digital_ trucker explains, then setting the transparency for the user pane should eliminate any pink from being shown. Another option would be to reduce the canvas size of the user pane graphic to match the size that you want (minus the pink area). To do this, from the psp menu, click on image then canvas size, then change the settings to the size you want. AS long as your image is rectangular (no curved edges), you should not need to use any magic pink.
