MSStyle conversion problem in SkinStudio

Tuesday, December 30, 2003 by dan.wright | Discussion: Skinning

This is a repost of a question in the "Converting Msstyles to WindowBlinds visual styles" on the main group, not intentionally being annoying by double-posting, but thought just in case someone else read it here ... thx

------------------

Can anyone help me out with this question? Just trying to convert reluna by Bant and get the following on scrollbars

I'm not sure what setting I need to change to rid of the magic pink. tia

alright you got your image working. Does it show the magic pink when the skin is actually loaded?

Check the top window frame image in skin studio. you will probably notice that there is a pink border showing above the frame 2 or 3 pixels high

You will need to edit these out then reduce the size of the image by the number of rows you have removed.

Remember that the active / inactive image is stacked so you need to cut out both.

you will also need to do the same with the left and right border images.

hope this will help

Trav, yes it does this when I apply it as well. In fact this happens for me on just about every msstyle I try to convert and I just finally decided to post a question on it ... thx

Looks like you need to check the "Transparent" checkbox for your Scrollbar Buttons.

Yeah, I actually tried that one Koasati, but it didn't seem to do the trick. I've been messing around in SkinStudio trying to figure this one out by changing various settings but nothing seems to work, I'll keep playing and look forward to more input, thanks.

Thats all I can suggest I have never had that problem importing msstyles. I am sure you'll figure it out. Or somebody who knows whats going on wonders in here. The reason I asked if it was showing up when you loaded the skin was because sometimes skinstudio doesn't render it properly within the program. Good luck

You've probably already checked this but it might be worth checking the RGB levels of the magic pink. They should be 255,0,255

Shouldn't have to mess with images, try SkinMetrics, Scrollwidth 1 or 13.

Unfortunately neither of these last 2 things worked. For now I'm gonna bag trying to convert this since Morph just released SouLuna and that is just a good as Reluna imo. Thanks for all the help.

I played around with it a little bit, and the wierd magic pink scrollbar arrows only appeared in the test dialogue in skinstudio and in Firebird. Wierd.
