None of those services are worth a damn I.R., sorry to say.

Photobucket use to be good, the other day I had uploaded a screenshot of my blind and guess what happened? They had shrunk the image from 1680x1050 to 800x500 what the hell and also recompressed it so it look like poo. So then I upped it to imageshack and all was fine.....

Photobucket will not get any more uploads from me!

Oh man, photobucket is the worst, use imageshack. Photobucket was always making hi-res shots smaller and it's just crap (I think myspace bought it some time ago). Imageshack gives you the direct link right after uploading it anyway.

guess they're all bad. I recently switched over to photobucket when I encountered uploading problems with imageshack. I haven't had any problems yet but then again my uploads are fairly small to begin with.

yep...going back many many years using photobucket...they've always shrunk your pic....

I still use it for smaller things...little forum pics and smilies.....but I use imageshack for screenies.....

the only advantage to photobucket is.... if you wish to remove your picture from the forum for any reason..... you can delete from your photobucket account.... the imageshack will remain...

Flickr Pro is $30 a year and is pretty much unlimited and the best out there.  If you can spare the cash, I would recommend it if you are using images that are bigger than avatars and such.

Imageshack had detours for you after clicking an image so I didnt use them.Photobucket didnt shrink my images because I used the 1 mb option.But it did start recompressing them to about 50% of what they were at upload.

I would say,well thats what I get for using a free service but they have been doing it to their pro customers too.Some people had thousands of images ruined.

Photobuckets response once they finally began fessing up was that pay customers could now use a hi rez option from now on for the STORAGE of the image but for bandwidth reasons,download image links would be compressed.

Which means they dont even know their own business...its not about storage,its about showing others the image,in the quality that you uploaded.

Morons.

geez,I would never trust my images to an online backup...I just needed linkage.

I just deleted an image which I had posted in the forums. Imageshack replaced the image with

403 Forbidden

This file removed for violation of Imageshack Terms of Service

or by user request.

I suppose the viewer has to guess which.

oh good...that didn't happen for me when I tried it...good to know...

now people will just think you posted a nawdy image....

Probably why I'll never use such a service.....

try SkyDrive  it's an MSN thing all you need is an MSN acount  EXp .msn  or .hotmail  or .live

and you get 25GB of storgae space per E-mail address you make

and you can make it public, private and both  or pick who can download and uploaed to it and add or remove folder

but the files can only be 50MB each.

Yeah, I used to use photobucket for throwaway news images but it was just too slow. Timing out is not acceptable, even for a free service.

I am not sure if it is linkable, but you can give someone or ones an URL to accesses it 

the 50 MB is how big a file can be, so if it is 50.1MB the you would have to split it into 2 files.

MSN also has  Windows live photo  which might let you link an image don't think it does but it might...
