User Pane (Windowblinds)

Wednesday, September 24, 2003 by Richard Mohler | Discussion: Skinning

Was just wondering if there is any way to remove little box for user picture, I like the skin but not with the little box for the user picture. If there is any way to remove it, you'll have to explain it carefully because I'm kinda new to this. Thanks, Richard

Control Panel/Display Properties/appearance/advanced, uncheck 'show user icon'

yrag, Some skins have user picture box whether you want to use them or not, It doesn't seem to matter if you uncheck 'show user icon if not domain' need to know if there's a way to get rid of little box alltogether. Just want to make user pane all one solid piece without little box. Can anyone help?

You'll need to go into Skin Studio and get rid of it there for each skin that doesn't allow the option.

This is because the user picture box is built into the user pane image, rather than being included as a separate image. What you need to do is open the user pane image in an image editor and remove the box for the user picture. Often you can just select an area next to the box, copy it, and paste it over the box to cover it up. Then just save it and reload the skin.
