Orion Icons Updated!
Wednesday, October 13, 2004 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News
The Orion premium icon suite is the ultimate set of icons. Leading icon artist, Paul Boyer, also known as Mormegil, created the Orion icons suite in 6 different colors and they look incredible.
Now, Paul has gone and revisited his design. Touched them up here and there, added a couple of new icons and increased the resolution to support all the way up to 128x128 icons.
And if you already bought the suite, these updates are yours free! And if you haven't, you can still get them all together. Check them out.

PhrozenMenace, I've looked at your account information under this email as well as all people with "Jean Joseph" as their name. While you've purchased a couple of the premium suites, Orion doesn't appear to be one of them.
Perhaps under a different name or email address? Contact support with alternatives, please.

You can download the Orion icons via Stardock Central as well, with this update. Enter your serial number for them under the Misc section.

It probably wants another file to be in there. Let me refresh it.

I'm turning off its availability on SDC tonight. I can't seem to figure out how to fix the modules not "sticking" as installed for tonight and I would rather have less people have to redownload it again later.
Use the form at https://www.stardock.com/support to resend the full download install links to the email address you ordered under.

" Extract:C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\temp\Mod_Amber\Orion_Amber_eula.txt_ 0 (file not found)
Result:Installation failed "
Then when I go check on that folder the icons are there but also duplicate files with this extension .ico_ Any ideas what the problem might be?

Yes, it was me trying to fix it still showing in SDC tonight after you restarted it. And I can't figure out the trick, so its disabled for tonight. Only people installing between ~8-9pm EST would have gotten that error (and only on Amber).

I could bitch about how long it took to come out. But instead i'll bitch about how long it's going to take me to make my new Icon theme. hehe.

- DesktopX was FINALLY fixed to some sort of stability....too bad I already lost interest after buying the $500 commercial version and making an ass out of myself when it didnt work right for customers. I doubt I'll ever return.
- Object Bar hasnt gotten a significant update in a very long time
- Icon Packager is STILL plagued by file-type icons not properly saving in a theme
- WinFX was never made realistic to use all the time
- CustorXP: nothing
- JoeUser and Blog Navigator never lived up to what I hoped.
- and on top of all that, the one little update I'd been really looking forward to, turned out to be a cosmetic change (that wasn't even really needed) and maybe a handful of new icons.
Bitching is an understatement, I'm downright disappointed.

I would like to point out.

I did this update on my own time, simply because I know a lot of people still liked the Orion Icons, but wanted the 128x128 version of the Icons.

I was not paid to do this update, I did it because I wanted to thank people for buy the packs in the first place.

I have well over 200 hours in making the original pack, and at least 20 or 30 in updated them.
As for adding Icon types, what it came down to is there are just to many Commonly used Icon types, and I had to choose, how to spend my limited time. If I tried to add even a quarter of the requested file types, I would have never had time to make this update at all. I’m sorry that you are disappointed, but I would recommend that you try making even one Icon pack with more then 150 Icons in it, and see how easy it is to get all the Icons that everyone wants. Also for those of you who do want some custom file types, you can open the Default File Icon, in the pack, and over lay any program Icon you want on to it, with just about any Icon Design Program.
