Explorer Shortcut Help
Tuesday, July 6, 2010 by ElDukey | Discussion: ObjectDock
Hi all, I'm trying to create a Windows Explorer shortcut on my ObjectDock Bar. I creat a new shortcut add this"%windir%\explorer.exe" to the link area and works great ... once !
The first time I click it, it brings up Windows Explorer as intended but then it will not open on clicking but will if I right click and select Open Windows Explorer.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug or limitation of ObjectDock ?

Hi, thanks for the reply and sorry, it's the latest OD 2 and I'm runnin' Windows 7 64 bit.
I took the exact steps you described and again it behaved the same as I mentioned, the first click to open works fine but then when I try to access it, nothing happens but if I right click the icon on the dock then it will give me the option to open windows explorer.
Weird ![]()

I would have to say it might be a OD 2 bug or not yet available cause I think it is still in Beta...
someone how has OD2 or one of the makers will come along...
as for me it works but as I was opening it to see if it was working it did have a bug or something was messing with it ... I have OD 1.9
It was putting the indicators at the top of the zoomer on my desktop and making the zoomer enviable but it would clear it by unloading it then re-starting...
but if I did the same as above (in red) it would do the same.. but that was just with the Properties box open...

Do you have OD 1.9 or the new ?
what OS is it Xp, Vista, Se7en ? 32bit or 64bit ?
When I type in (%windir%\explorer.exe) in Se7en Ultimate 64bit Libraries opens up.... Is this what you want ? If so
C:\Windows then look for explorer.exe then Right Click on explorer.exe then Hover over SEND TO then click on Desktop (Create Shortcut) . then move it to your OD
I have 1.9
NOTE If you do not have SEND TO in your Right Click Menu then use Create Shortcut then just Drag it to your Desktop then your OD
or you can try this with the one you have now on your OD if 1.9 2.0 may work too.. Right click on the Icon click on Dock Entry Properties
on the line with LINK make sure you have ( C:\Windows\explorer.exe ) no --> () if not click on Browse and find it. or just copy and past C:\Windows\explorer.exe
into it....
Hope this is what you want and if so Hope it helps
