Am I the only one that thinks this new version is far too glossy, shinny and blue? I actually really like the look of WMP XP and 9 and am disappointed with the direction they took with it visually. Thank goodness for skins, right?

That being said, being the techno junkie I am I will inevitably update tonight and give it a go. However, as WMP 9 used to be my favorite jukebox, it has been supplanted by foobar2000, so I may not even have it open that much. Thanks for the heads up!

From seeing the screenshots in the past it looked really bad but actually running it is real nice compared to the WMP9 style.

I see they fixed the bug when hiding the menubar no longer flashes at you on mouseover. Rips to MP3 now which is handy. The Energy Bliss Visualization is rather cool really love that.

oi Black Xero, you made right screw up with the links, im sure people would love to read about it first before downloading. As you have directed them to the actual installer more or less.

Well, if you run it on dual monitors post back and say if it drags on your system when you pull it from your main to secondary monitor. It gives me really choppy performance when moved. I'll probably be sticking with Winamp for the most part after trying this out.

Well, since I have downloaded it my opinion has improved somewhat. Still some weird issues here and there, but a solid player nonetheless. Not sure that it is any better than 9, but solid still.

I disagree, it does look nice but it is mearly a vehicle for MS to push more Pay Features at the hapless Consumer. Prime example is the Internet Radio Feature. That is the one and only thing, I use Windows Media Player for. Open it up to radio and you are promptly prompted to get MSN Radio PLus. That is crap. I think Shoutcast has it in spades over MSN.
And yah open the damn thing up and it automatically contacts MSN online Music Store. WTF?You have to right click, and get it to show it's menu bar to get at the options menu. That is hiding it if you ask me. Clueless folks are never going to find that, without being shown. Major No..No.. in my book, I deselected all media types on install, and guess what check options and it has still grabbed 50% of the extensions, specifically the ones I unchecked beforehand. The only plus I see is that MS upped the bitrate on the mp3 ripping capability.

foobar200 h'uh?? Heard about it so I guess I will give it a try.

anyway, back to wmp10:
I will give it a look see, although I am sort of hesitant in downloading an update for it. I sort of like WinAMP.

One question though, does it now except acc music files?

Saw it, downloaded it, updated, had a look at it, still saw the crap that made me drop WMP and went back to QCD Player.

Very good. It never contacted the MSN Online store for me perhaps because its not available in the UK yet...

Yeah I can see your catching on. See that small arrow next to the minimize click that and see what happens.
