DesktopX 2.1 is now available via Download.com. If you haven't tried DesktopX or are running 2.0 or earlier, go there to get the latest version.
DesktopX 2.1 supports running widgets, which I imagine we'll start seeing soon here at WinCustomize.
If you want to see the power of a widget, here's one I whipped up in a few minutes:

This 40K zip file contains an EXE called Minimeter.exe. You don't have to have DesktopX running, as long as you have DesktopX 2.1 installed on your computer you can run widgets. Try it for yourself!
