My Son's Birthday Too!!

Well peeps, I just wanted to say that today marks 3 years since I quit smoking, after 32 years of being a slave to nicotine! It was, without a doubt, the best thing I have ever done for myself!
Well, other than meeting my wife.
Anyway, just wanted to give you all the opportunity to celebrate with me! WOOT!!!

Happy Birthday!! He is 16, actually, it was the 18TH. I quit on his birthday May 18th, 2007.

Congrats to all that have quit. I smoked for 43 years and quit on 1 Nov. 2005. The hardest thing I ever did. Damn. Loved smoking. Wanted one for about a year after and now, doesn't dother me.

Way to go Jim! I gave it up ten years ago myself after smoking around 30 years! Just decided to quit one day and threw everything away and never went back. No patches, no nothing, cold turkey. It's all in your mind, control that and you can quit too if you are still a smoker!

Would have been about that for me... but I had a bit of a relapse late last year. Yeah, I was suffering with stress, depression and some anxiety issues, had a moment of weakness and briefly took up the filthy habit again. However, that was short lived and I've been off the smokes again for about 5 months now. Okay, so I had a relapse, but I was going through a shit of a time and I've since forgiven myself that period of weakness.
I originally quit on May 1st 2007... this time it was January 26th.
And isn't there a lot of birthdays in May!!! Apart from a few here at WC, I have a niece on the 18th, my sister's is on the 19th, mine is today, the 20th, my step-daughter, Bianca's, is on the 27th... plus I have an uncle on the 8th, and 2 aunts on the 16th and 23rd, and cousins on the 22nd, 27th, 29th, 30th and 31st... oh, and a sister-in-law (Shaunna's sister, Kath) the same day as me.

. and i have to agree, start smoking was the worst thing i've done to myself.
