Over all I found the article lacking any true depth but it is a pretty good primer for those who are wondering what it is all about and for those whom might have never heard of Skinning before.

This is a Magazine I consider a good resource for beginning computer enthusiasts to the well versed geek looking for something that is at times funny and at others a good source of new information.
The Author seems to have a grasp behind the whole concept, though I was left wondering about the "Expert Tip's" on the page side bars. The headers might have been labeled "Things that I don't care for" in many instances.
This is where I feel there is a lack of depth and wonder if his readers might have been better served if Mat had done an interview with some of the application developers for the correct answers it curing those same things that make him go "grrrr" as he put it.

anyway, as the Head Developer for ModWorks Group LLC, the company which owns DeskMod, I can tell you personally that DeskMod is NOT closing, and never was closing. Anyone that knows how to read a news post would have known that... Whoever posted that CRAP in that magazine has no clue what they are talking about and absolutely has NO inside information on DeskMod or any other MWG related projects. Gorman, ONE OF THE OWNERS of DeskMod will be posting a followup here shortly. (right, Gorman?)

DeskMod is definitely not closing for good, which we've tried to make as clear as possible. With that said, it will be some time before it comes back to life. We're focused on ModBlog right now, and we also have some contract jobs going on the side. I'm not going to take a guess as to when DeskMod will return, but it will be once v4 is complete. We haven't started on the development phase of v4 yet, which will take 4 or 5 months. We have, however, finished planning it.
ModBlog is under very active development and we are quickly approach the v1.0 final mark. It's definitely worth checking out if you're curious to see what we're up to: http://www.modblog.com/

Think I'm going to send the Editor an email for reader feedback and ask how he would allow his publication be nothing more than a rumor mill at the hands or one person and then wrap assumed Expert Knowldge in Skinning applications by someone I am sure spent a little time asking lazy questions in the messagebiards only to spew his interupertation out in print as if he knows what he is talking about...

does this magazine have a website? gorman and 9180 already said enough on this...heh, but once again, DeskMod is not closing it's actually fairly active considering that the site is in "Lite" mode.
