Security settings in IE would need to be adjusted.

Sorry Spencer, but that made no difference at all changing the settings.  When you right click on the Download button in IE8 in any OS, there should be an option to save to disk rather than automatically download and install the .wba file, and there is not.

ID,  I checked my security settings in the Internet Zone, and I already had those exact same settings as you have in your screenie.....so, as LightStar said, those settings don't make any difference.

I agree. The site is supposed to fully and primarily (amid protests from other browser users) support IE, now you are telling us we need a different browser if we want all the functionality of the old site.

Am I the only one that is confused here?

I DO have IE set to save all downloads to a specific folder, but that does not work with windowblinds...they get automatically installed, leaving me without a wba file to check to make sure nothing is being downloaded with the file. And that leaves me open to the possibility of getting viruses, malware, etc.

So you think there may be viruses in .wba files that you download from this site? Geesh

Yes, it has happened a couple of times to me.  So, when I discovered I could do a "Save As" about 3 years ago, that is how I have downloaded everything...and have never gotten a thing again!

Ok then.......I just kinda assume that these things are checked out by moderators. Never thought of it before, really

Don't know if this is an option you guys would consider, but I use Speedbits free download accelerator and it always gives me the option to "save" then I can scan with Avast before openning. It works for all downloads from here.

WindowBlinds downloads are always downloaded and checked.

WindowBlinds downloads are always downloaded and checked.

That is all well and good...I still like to check again to make sure.

But, the issue of not being able to have the actual file itself is bothersome.  I like to have the actual file I downloaded so that I can have the blind on my laptop if I so choose, and to be able to re-install the blind if something goes awry with my computer.  I shouldn't have to "download" the blind twice.  I know...I could make the wba file by opening the blind in SKS and making it from there...but I shouldn't have to do that.

This was never an issue before with the old site, and I have had IE 8 for over a year now.  I still think that we should still be able to have the option to do a "save as" like we did before.  I shouldn't have to install another browser just to be able to download blinds.

Skin comments notification still not working properly on skins page.

When trying to post and edit on my VXP 2010 WB thread I keep getting...

Well, I've gotten it twice anyway.

My concern isn't one of safety,I'm just lazy.

Since I dual boot,I like to dl the blind and save it to downloads and install from there and then copy it over to my Vista downloads folder. That makes it easy to install later when I boot into Vista.(I don't remember why I'd want to, lol) I then send the original wba to my external for archiving. "Save as" made that much easier.

I have no desire to use any other browser, IE8 serves me well except for those unskinned tabs. No rush, but I'd like to see it work as it did on the old site if possible.

You should really give FF a chance Wiz, more secure IMO and skins WAY better.

To amend, sometimes skin comments # works, most times, it doesn't. really needs fixed, its very important to skinners, especially those of us selling our work.

I just don't have time to check 20 + skins multiple times daily day for customer queries.

btw , everyone I know cant stand the bright blue tiled gradient on the sides of the site \ forum. Its just horrible....imho

Something more neutral would be a way better choice.

Quotes of an entire reply also containing a quote seems to merge the two into one block of text.

Edit:Wouldn't you know it, I can't duplicate it now.

Adding an emoticon to a comment in dreams library loads all the emoticons in a 2 deep by 3 screenwidth array so as to need horizontal scroll to find required emoticon such as thumb up, MSIE8, Win 7 64bit, 1920X1080 rez. FF3 does not have the problem.
