ObjectDock THEMES

ObjectDock supports creating of themes now. We recommend using this format for submitting things to the ObjectDock library. To use it, simply get your dock just how you want it, and then go to file->save as an .odtheme. It will save backgrounds and dock icons and more.
Make sure you have permission for any dock items you do submit though. But for those who have created an entire set of dock items and want to submit that, use the theme format. It takes away the tedium of having to manually set up the dock items later on.

excellent...the section was getting a little busy lately and this should help keep it manageable.

just a note, the "file->save theme" that Brad mentions is actually for local theme managment, so that you can have different setups saved on your own computer.... for saving to zip them up into a package for easy distribution, use "File->Package Theme"... it will allow you to specify exactly what you want to be included with the theme... by default it will include the dock and its appearance settings (not including custom window icons) however you can check off to add any of the above as you wish on an icon-by-icon basis. You cannot currently just attach along an entire folder of icons yet however, so to distribute icons you'll have to create items for them and them package up only those three items. Makes it very easy to add new icons though! All the user end has to do to install your icons is run the .docktheme file, and it'll extract everything out for them and automatically add what icons you had packaged, or an entire back themes/additional backgrouns/etc etc whatever you packaged up.

This reminds me that it would be nice to re-do the Desktopx Library into two seperate sections, Themes and Objects.
Would this apply to the Object Dock library also now?

So what you are saying is, each dock item you use, you need permission from each artist.
