Stir The Pot

The State of The States

Thursday, March 25, 2010 by Chasbo | Discussion: Off-Topic

Well I know that I'm probably opening a can of worms here but I can't help myself.

What do you all think about The Health Care Bill?

Personally I think it doesn't go far enough. I wanted Universal Health Care. I think keeping the insurance companies in control is bad. The insurance companies should be placed under direct control of the government/people so that this thing is NOT profit motivated. Make no mistake that this system is still profit driven.

What about the death threats to the Dem Congressmen and Women? Put those wacko "Tea Party" people in jail I say. Those Glenn Beck/Fox/Sarah Palin zombies need to be dealt with harshly. I am saying the ones making death threats and throwing bricks through windows and such.

How about all those men making judgments about abortions? Hey I got a good idea: Let's let the women decide. I can't remember the last time I got pregnant. The bill removed the government funding for abortion anyway so why do those Glenn Beck/Fox/Sarah Palin people keep talking/bitching about it?

Here's another idea: Let's get the hell out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Those money pits sure don't help the so called debt now do they? Far as I can see Bin Laden is holed up in Pakistan so why the hell are we still in the wrong countries? Perhaps the cost of the health care bill could be covered by the money we are now spending killing people in the wrong places.

One final plea: Put Bush, Cheney and Rove in jail for the crimes they committed in the 8 years they were in office.

Have a nice day.

Hate to burst your bubble gmc2 but President Obama has called himself a 'progressive'.  Does that make him racist against himself?

Race card, gmc2, ya have to be living in a cave.  It seems its being played in reverse.  Not one talk show host has treated Obama like they did Clinton or Bush, Palin plus others.  Now, ya might not like them so you will say they got what they deserved, doesn't matter.  Why isn't Obama being treated like they were.  Race?  Color?  Religion?  Doesn't matter wheather you agree with his politics or not.  Even Biden steps on his wang like there was no tomorrow and doesn't get roasted like the other VP's on both parties did.  Think about it,

Absolutely not. No I will not be retracting my statement. This is not the first time that teabaggers have been proven to be racists. Too bad it won't be the last.

Actually I did not know that sexual avanteurs were racists.  However tea Partiers are not racists since they come in all races and colors.  But if it is the authors false allegation that tea partiers are racists, then it must also be the authors contention that minorities are racists.  Just as he has claimed he is.

And the video proves there is a demonstration, nothing more.  Again, all victimization, and no proof.  But then as the Democrat Speaker said, democrats dont care about proof "only the seriousness of the allegations". So do not worry about facts, just yell louder and that will make it so.

@ Dr Guy,

I could say the same thing about the US impression of our (Canadian) Health Care System.  Here's quoting myself from another thread again...

And I would have no problem with you upbraiding Americans for any mis-statements about your health system.  Opinions (for and against) are the mother's milk of forums, but we can at least strive for accuract of the known facts.

obiwan, are you really a complete idiot? nobody on the right calling for breaking windows? what about that idiot militia dumbass from the south who admitted telling his 'followers' to break the windows of democratic officials' offices?

I have been reading (I do not watch) the news avidly and have seen nothing of this.  Do you have a link?

ok, i admit i was wrong about cantor. it seems, according to the richmond police, his office was not attacked. the bullet fired thru his office window was one that was shot straight up into that air at 1:00 AM and came straight down. unless that person is a physicist, there's no way it was intended for cantor's office. the police say it was a random errant shot, not an attack on cantor's office.

now, does this mean clyburn was not being honest about being spat upon and called the 'n' word? no, it doesn't. if charlie rangel had said it had happened to him, i wouldn't believe him. clyburn is one of the most respected, by both parties, members of congress.

You always seem to bring race into an issue, makes me wonder who really has a problem with race.

Liberals seem to be the ones most concerned about race even when race is not a factor.  Indeed, they are racist.  Which does not mean they hang minorities, only that they cannot see a person, only a race.

starkers

I for one always look forward to comments from non-Americans on American issues.
Here ya go..... a bit of tongue-in-cheek

Personally, I think Obama's bill didn't go far enough and should have covered things like government run brothels.

Why not???  One's sexual health is part of health, is it not??  So gov't run/monitored brothels would help to keep a lot of folks happy... not to mention safer from STD's...

... and if it gets passed in the States, (and it'd truly stir the pot) we'd eventually have it here in Oz as well.

Aye cap'n and what do Mrs. Starkers Say?  Me thinks she be going to hog tie ye and prevent ye from sailing anytime in da near future.

Yer still a randy old sea dog.

Ye don't have ta wait for us Colonials fer ye health care.  Ye just want ta ladies to not be spreading crustacians when ye visit us.

Dr, Guy, there are numerous articles on the web about it. the guy's name is Mike Vanderboegh. feel free to google his name. i don't care which side of the argument you're on, this guy is a disgrace to humanity. it doesn't matter if he's republican or democrat, jail his sorry butt.

by the way, i don't see a person's race and never have. i do not care what a person's race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation is. only a person's actions toward others and beliefs matter to me.

Racists means a bigottry or bias because of race.  last I checked there was more than one race.

But to answer your question, he can be.  So I have to ask you, is he?

I did google it and only got blogs.  Hence the request for a link to a news site.  Perhaps you can share one since you have read them all?

But I would also caution you about the colorado syndrome.

It was actually Clyburn, Cleaver *and* Lewis all three of which have made claims to have heard the N-word used and all three of which are therefore claimed to be lying. Not to mention the occassional "faggot" thrown at Frank but of course he's pretty used to that.

But Lincoln freed the slaves you know and since Republicans are the party of Lincoln there's no way any conservative could be racist.

Just like one of the main Republican arguments against the HCR bill was that it would hurt seniors by taking funding from Medicare part D even though the bill actually reduced the "donut hole" in the prescription drug benefit provided by Medicare part D.

But then that's the Republicans for you, such staunch defenders of programs that benefit seniors like Medicare and Social Security. Oh wait ... nevermind.

Party of Lincoln indeed.

Mike Vanderboegh Urges Protesters to Throw Bricks

Updated: Thursday, 25 Mar 2010, 11:15 AM EDT
Published : Thursday, 25 Mar 2010, 11:15 AM EDT

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - Encouraging people to throw bricks through Democratic Party office windows could bring Alabama blogger Mike Vanderboegh just what he wants: the chance to spread his anti-big-government views.

The blog – which claims to take a "strict constructionist, libertarian point of view" – encouraged readers to throw bricks at the windows of Democratic headquarters across the country, the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser reported.

Vanderboegh, 57, is taking credit for someone throwing a brick through the glass doors at the Democratic Committee's Rochester, N.Y., office either late Saturday night or early Sunday. The brick had a note attached that quoted Barry Goldwater's famous statement: "Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice."

"I guess that guy's one of ours," Vanderboegh told the newspaper.

You are grasping for straws here about a guy with a Blogspot blog that NOBODY has heard of.  If we want to get picky we can start listing the progressive blogs that incite violence.

Anyways, lets see how that big government is working out so far.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/26/cbos-2020-vision-debt-will-rise-to-90-of-gdp/

President Obama's fiscal 2011 budget will generate nearly $10 trillion in cumulative budget deficits over the next 10 years, $1.2 trillion more than the administration projected, and raise the federal debt to 90 percent of the nation's economic output by 2020, the Congressional Budget Office reported Thursday.

In its 2011 budget, which the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released Feb. 1, the administration projected a 10-year deficit total of $8.53 trillion. After looking it over, CBO said in its final analysis, released Thursday, that the president's budget would generate a combined $9.75 trillion in deficits over the next decade.

I suppose you have no problem being forced by the hand of the IRS to purchase health insurance mandated by the federal government. Let me guess, you are probably someone trying to benefit from it.
Um. I personally pay $19,200 per year for my health insurance and I have no problem affording it. Health insurance costs could double, triple or even quadruple and I could still afford it, I wouldn't particularly like it but it wouldn't change my standard of living in the slightest. I consider health insurance for my family to be an essential  thing to provide and I have paid for health insurance ever since my first summer job back in 1968.

So no I don't expect to personally benefit from this bill and if anything I expect to pay more in taxes because of my "cadillac plan" that requires $20 office vists, $30 specialist vists, $100 ER visits, $1,000 per person per year deductible, $2,000 per family per year deductible, $100 prescription per person per year deducitble and $10/$20/$30 prescription costs.

If anything I am far more likely to be subsidizing *your* health insruance than you'll be subsidizing *mine*.

Yeah Briebart the racist that employs O'Keefe the racist is the one that gets to determine what constitutes "proof". You could have the guy in question publically admit that he spit on Cleaver and Briebart would simply claim that he was a SEIU union plant which interestingly enough were the first words out of Obiwan's mouth. Good luck collecting that bet.

BTW the term is bald faced liar.

Wasn't so long ago that throwing bricks (and worse) was cheered, even encouraged, by leftists and enshrined by the media.  We tried to tell them it wasn't a good idea.  It was the left which legitimized it, now their feelings are hurt when their tactics are employed against them.

'Scuse me while I go wipe these crocodile tears out of my eyes.

to hell with it. there's far too many idiots and fools in this thread trying to justify the incitement of violence. it doesn't matter which side of the debate you're on, if you try to justify violence, you're just as guilty as the person committing the violence. progressive or conservative, if you committ an act of violence, you're wrong.

First off that presumes what will happen ten years into the future, 2 years longer than Obama can even possibly be in office.

Secondly on a percentage basis that would be somewhat less than the doubling of national debt that Bush Jr presided over and a bit more than 50% of the nearly quadrupling of the national debt that Reagan presided over.

But that's how conservatives work. They don't care about deficits and debt as long as the money goes to corporations or to pay for wars (even though they do tend to keep the wars "off the books" for accounting purposes).

However if the deficits and debts are incurred to help "people" *then* there's all hell to pay. Even though it was the Republicans that got us into this mess in the first place.

You Ayn Rand sycophants are such hypocrites.

Because they have been caught doing it before.  The only lie being perpetrated here is your claims that cannot be backed up with any evidence.

regarding the budget estimates, did you care that the funding of the war in iraq (a war we had no reason to start) has been unpaid? did you care that the cost of the war in iraq was not included in bush's budgets?

I knew it would not take long for a rabid progressive to bring up Bush.  Let me make you aware of a fact.  Obama has spent more in 14 or so months, than the entire Bush Presidency including the wars.  Nobody is giving Bush a pass here, but this debt is being made worse by Obama, so please stop the history lesson garbage you are trying.

In regards to the Patriot Act, didn't Obama just sign it again?
