ObjectDock 0.75 Released

Wednesday, December 18, 2002 by fusemonkey | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Here's what is in the readme file:

"-Running-program Indicators.... shortcuts to files will have
indicator after clicked while the program that was opened is
still running... shortcuts to exe's will always have an
indicator whenever the program is running.

-Single clicking an app with a running indicator will bring
all its windows to the foreground. Double clicking will run it again.

-Further improved dropping of some objects (e.g. My Computer, IE) to take advantage of running indicators.

-Added button to properties dialog of windows in OD's taskbar... clicking it will add a shortcut to the program the window belongs to to the dock. Very useful!

-Re-running the dock opens the dock config window.

-Fixed taskbar misfunctioning temporarily when Outlook Express "rules" window is opened.

-Bunch of other little glitch issues fixed"

How (if at all) will the GDI+ engine or custom engine be effected by the new DX9 release?

So far, no issues here. Single click and double click work fine.
I have not had any issues with explorer.exe as stated above.
Creating a restore point now so I can load the DX9 runtime.
Time to break stuff... Cool
I will report back if any issues with DX9.

OK... Just loaded DX9 runtimes.
So far so good. Window creation appears to be a bit faster actually.
GDI + Engine still a bit sluggish, Custom Engine works like a dream.
I'm running the dock on a PIII 750 with 256 MB ram and a ATI Rage Mobility AGP P/M video card with only 8MB of ram.
Basically, it's an older Dell Latitude laptop.
I'm very impressed with how the dock functions on this laptop.

Excellent! Best looking launcher I've seen for Windows, keep up the good work!

I know my current browser choice is way down on the food chain, but .75 pretty much kills page rendering in Netscape 7.01.

I love it. The only problem I have is that it crashes when it takes a picture of Winamp3 when it's minimized.

There are two feature requests that I have:
1. Allow ObjectDock to launch .lnk files. I have a link to my dial-up connection on Object dock, but it doesn't launch my dialer.
2. Allow browsing outside of the ObjectDock directory for .pngs.

What about adding support for the start menu? Or is that already available and I can't figure out how?
