can someone please explain what this does and means?

magic beans - you can find them on level 33 of Classic Doom
Just a guess Kitty....I believe that if you leave it checked and then close Skinstudio, open the file in PS and edit it when you re-open SS the file is automatically changed to the version you just updated.
This would be very handy if you were changing multiple items for a skin....you would only need to reopen and save the skin to actually update all the changed pieces.

Yes, that is what that is supposed to do. However, if you change the files name at all, it won't work.
