Clicking "file" exits apps.....

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 by jonhpr | Discussion: WindowBlinds

ok, I just installed windowblinds 7. Whats happening is that with some themes (the ones I like) when I click "file" in notepad or in windows explorer the program exits or disappears, the desktop icons and taskbar disappear for a second or 2, then they come back. But the app doesn't.

Also over time the transparency setting on the taskbar and start menu seem to change to almost totally transparent by itself, I have to open wb and re-apply changes to get the settings back how I had them, it also does this after a reboot, the taskbar and start menu are comletely transparent.

I'm using epsilon now, but have noticed the same thing with pandora aero and others. It even does this with stardock themes, like sublime.

I also added a folder for wallpapers and it doesn't load them in wb. I have to go thru the display settings to change to the ones I want.

Where is the event viewer located?

Also this happens in outlook express as well. when I click on anything in the top nav bar it crashes it. Not just clicking "file" clicking anything. I have tried all themes now too. Well, all I have installed....

Would you please click on About Window Blinds and send us your system info?  That way someone might be able to help.

I did that in the first post.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for in the event viewer.

Application?

There are a bunch of events in there, information, warnings, errors. Not sure exactly what I'm looking for. I know it only happens when windowblinds is running, when I unload wb it doesn't happen. Another weird issue is motorola phone tools will not run when window blinds is loaded......

I thought it might be video card related. The only process I think running in the task manager attributed to the graphics card was nvsvc32.exe. I ended task and it still happens..... I didn't see anything for nview running in the task manager.

Update:

Ok I disabled nview desktop manager and now it is no longer exiting my apps.

Seems to have fixed that issue. However I still have the taskbar transparency thing happening still.

(Omega 2.169.21)

I'd try updating video drivers.......I don't think any new Omega drivers have been released since 2008

Do you have explorer set to run each folder as its own process?
