I haven''t seen it yet either, but I''m pretty sure Darth Vader''s son doesn''t even make an appearance until Episode IV. ;]

How convincing it is depends on some questionable assertions such as how benign you feel Pinochet was.

The Empire was weak. They had the fire power but not the guts. The flaw lies in the Sith.
Darth Vader should have sensed Luke''s presence on Tatouine and blasted the planet with the Death Star - end of Jedi, no more rebellion. The Emperor was too concerned with his visions coming true to see the real threat. People with his kind of arrogance fall down sooner or later and he got his. If you are going to rule by force (no pun intended) you have to be ruthless.
Here are today''s lessons for dictators:-
1) Do unto others as they would do unto you - only do it first.
2) An enemy is still an enemy, even if it has surrendered.
3) Eliminte anyone who gets in your way before they become a threat.
4) Resistance is futile...(Ooops, wrong universe...)
5) If you''re going to be a bear, be a grizzly.

Much appreciation to those, given full explanation to my such idiotic comment on Episode II. Knowing everyone''s curiousity on the movie, even those with no background on the plot, convinced me to ask a quite general question. Thanks.

One thing the article didn''t point up is the Republic''s highly questionable record on the ethical treatment of animals, as revealed in Episode 2. Not only do we see Anakin abusing a grazing animal during his courtship of Amidala, but another example of this animal can be seen floating in the asteroid belt around the gas giant, and a third is seen running across the screen , ON FIRE, during the epic battle scene. Given that this takes place before the Sith succeed in conquering the republic, it is obvious they lack the resources to perpetrate such anti-pseudo-bovine attrocities on such a scale.

Of course, the article also ignores the inherent racism involved in the Empire''s system of government. Whereas the Republic was a gathering of all species into equitable representation, the Empire is an authoritarian regime perpetuated on the exclusion of other species - or even subspecies.
Ever notice how all the Imperial "representatives" (except the Stormtroppers, of course) were all WHITE MEN? Heck, it''s also sexist!
Oh yeah, the Empire''s oh so much better - if you''re a white guy from Naboo who doesn''t buck the status quo.
