Community Theme Project - St. Patrick's Day
Sunday, January 24, 2010 by Philly0381 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Okay folks, I thought it would be nice to continue with a St. Particks's Day Theme. My idea, subject to further input from the community would use those items that we generally associate with the Holiday. I'm thinking: Green, 4 leaf clovers, rainbow, pot of gold, Leprechauns, Irish, The Blarney Stone, Magicial. Did I miss anything?
It would be nice to have skins for the following: (updated to show skin volunteers)
•WindowBlinds (XP, Vista and Win 7) - Vampothika
•BootSkins -
•CursorFX - k10w3
•DesktopX Theme - RedneckDude
•DesktopX Widgets (weather, clock, etc) - Weather RedneckDude, Clock The AV Man
•Dream - Ausvet, amitsaran
•Icons -
•Logons - Frankief
•Object Dock - Backgound G3mpi3, Icons k10W3
•Rainlendar -k10w3
•RightClick - Vampothika
•ScreenSaver - amitsaran, Ausvet
•SysMetrix - Lantec
•Trillian Astra - G3mpi3
•Wallpaper - Frankief, k10w3
•Winstep -
•Xion Skin - k10w3
Other than the WindowBlind I see no problem with having multiple skins in the Theme. This would allow the user to set up their desktiop with different looks. For instance DeskScapes now has a function for changing the background, folks would be able to have their DeskScapes rotate through backgrounds.
If you would like to do a skin that is not listed please leave a comment on the thread.
At the end the themed skins would be wrapped up in a Theme Manager Suite, I have to do something.
We need ideas for a unique name plus design ideas for the WindowBlind. If someone is all ready working on something, all the more better.
Okay, so lets sse some volunteers and hear your thoughts.

You should first find someone to do a WindowBlind skin when you do this....then everyone else will have something to work off of. ![]()

H e has a high opinion of us here at WC, huh? lol
Philly, count me in. And this doesn't necessarily have to have a blind, would be nice though.

I didn't volunteer for any such thing. Sounds heathen to me.
Nope....Saint Patrick killed all of the heathens out. ("Snakes" were pagans, and THAT is what St. Patrick drove out of Ireland)

Seeing as how I am currently preparing an international move back home to Ireland, and only have five and a half weeks left,
much as I'd love to try and do something for it, I simply do not have time to participate in this.
I have however a suggestion and two requests.
Suggestion: My suggestion concerns the name, "(The) Emerald Isle".
With or without the "The".
Request 1: Don't make it "St. Patricks Day period", try to make it so that it can be used any time, all year long if wished.
Request 2: Make an animated something on top of the start menu á la "RIP_2007", "Halloween" or "Molten",
as either the main theme, or a substyle. Or vise-versa.
[EDIT]
Ausvet already has this Dream up on WinCustomize, perhaps you could use it if nobody else comes up with something:

I could do a dream but best have someone else doing one too as I am flooded out of my house - 3-6 weeks more to repair and have to install AE, Trapcode etc on my Laptop which didn't drown. Gammeldansk may volunteer for somethings too as he has grown rapidly in all fields and is also in or near Dublin and wont be thinking only Hollywood Stage Irish ![]()
