Multiplicity issue on Server 2008

I have my primary on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. A secondary on XP SP3, and another on Server 2008 Std 32bit.
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace does not work on the Server 2008 box.

It may be you have blocked simulated ctrl-alt-dels on the Server 2008 via Group Policy.

Neil,
Ah.. a new local policy that is only in place on Vista and Server 2008 ( didn't check 7 ).
This did not correct the issue.
| 1. | Login to the remote computer as the domain administrator. |
| 2. | Click the Start Windows button, select Run, type gpmc.msc and press enter. |
| 3. | In the left section, select the desired domain, then right-click and choose Create a GPO in this domain, and link it here. |
| 4. | RIght-click the new GPO and select Edit. |
| 5. | In the left section, please navigate to: |
Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Windows Logon Options
| 6. | In the right section, please double-click on the Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence policy and click on Enabled. |
| 7. | Set the policy option to either Services or Services and Ease of Access applications. |

That is not the setting. There is another setting that allows simulated ctrl-alt-dels from services, signed apps or all apps or no apps. Thats the setting you would need to check.

Here's the deal.
With UAC turned OFF, you are supposed to enable the above group policy setting for Services and Ease of access applications.
Multiplicity does not respond to this.
With UAC turned ON, CTRL-ALT-Backspace works.
I do not want to have UAC on really.

Multiplicity is considered an ease of access application. I don't see how UAC being disabled should be having any impact on this though as if anything disabling UAC should remove limitations not add new ones.

Just reporting it as it is.

So.. what is the correct fix for this issue. It indeed works as I've stated above and I am applying the proper group policy settings.

It looks like we need to contact Microsoft as the Ctrl-Alt-Del simulation is performed by a MS library. It may be UAC disabled mode is something they do not support.
There is actually a new MP build going up in the next week, but a resolution for this will not be included.

This is a limitation of the newer OSes (Vista and higher). Microsoft does not allow the SAS to be sent over a network to a machine with UAC disabled. You will need to enable UAC or this will not work.

Ok. Not the best answer but at least this is not an issue that breaks the usefulness of MP. I'll just have to limit connecting to server 2008/Vista/7 systems as my secondaries.
