Impulse is used to download WindowBlinds.
So install Impulse, enter your account details and WindowBlinds 7 should appear on the my software tab.

Use Impulse to download WindowBlinds. You don't need it to run WindowBlinds so you can turn it off. I would still leave Impulse on your somputer because that is how you will get your updates for WindowBlinds during the years of you subscription.

I think what you need to do at this point is email [email protected]. Explain that you want to load WindowBlinds without having to use Impulse.

Impulse is free and it is used to get updates to Stardock software. You can either install Impulse now and get your updated WB7 right away or email [email protected].
Please note: Stardock support are off for the holidays and won't return until Monday, January 4, 2010. - Stardock Holiday Vacation
It seems that installing a free program Impulse would be the way to go but that is just my opinion.

You can uninstall Impulse after doing your upgrading if you don't wish to have it on your computer, but as said earlier it does no harm and is how you get other updates throughout the year.

Bottom line is that you have no choice but to use Impulse if you want windowblinds. Nuff said.

Impulse is not a trojan, it's a download manager. It will take care of any updates at the click of a button.
Impulse is free, there is no charge.
I suggest if you feel differently you ask for a refund on any products you have purchased.

Did Stardock ever get this many complaints about SDC? It's the same thing! I really don't get people's problem ![]()

I had a similar issue. I only use WindowBlinds and I used to receive the program as a standalone version. I e-mailed Stardock and I was told that with version 7 the only way to get WindowBlinds is by installing Impulse.
There is not other way around. As other people in this thread suggest, just disable Impulse.
Having a stubborn nature, now I realized the benefits of using Impulse to check for updates for WindowBlinds. I fire it up the program once a week and every time a new update is ready, some of the issues I had with WindowBlinds are solved.

How long is 'some time ago'?
Did you follow the instructions in the email and download Impulse?
