I have a friend in Belgium who called me to see how I was, because I live in DC. She was telling me that everything there is chaos as well. Traffic is stand still, embassy is obviously closed, chaos in the streets, etc. She tells me after talking to her coworkers and friends and family that the general consensus seems to be fear that our government will overreact and begin WW3. She was supposed to come visit me at the end of the month. I wonder if that'll be possible.
Anyways, from talks with friends and coworkers, the most interesting things I hear going around are the comparisons to Pearl Harbor, the date 911-2001, the govt new in advance but Bush wants a reason for war, USAF shot down the PA flight before it could reach the white house, etc.
Oy. That's all I can say... my head is like marmalade.

As a Army Vet, I can honestly say and hope that hopefully Baby Boy Bush will use his head and not let this turn into WWIII. War is not something that a soldier wants to happen or even be part of. I was in the active Army when it was thought that the Gulf Conflict was going to start again. It is a scary thing to have to deal with and I would not wish that experience on anybody.

I'm completely shocked by the scenes that I've witnessed today... My thoughts now go out to all those who have suffered as a result of this cowardly attack... There simply aren't words to describe what I am feeling now...

No one could concentrate at my office today even thought we are very far from New York. My in-laws in Mexico told me that the US is not alone in its shock, sadness and outrage.

BTW, JavaBrain and other Stardockians went to give blood today and there was a 4 hour line. Be prepared to wait or make an appointment.

I was totally shocked and disgusted by todays events. I cannot begin to express my outrage at the people who perpetrated this evil act. I hope the U.S. find these people and deal with them in a way that befits the crime.

Hum, I can find a whole big lot of names to describe the people who did that, and none of them are nice. But I must say that "coward" is not one of them. Evil, animals, blood thirsty, machiavelic, spawn of Satan, ok, but not coward. When I first heard it from Bush, I didn't understand why the chopice of that word, and I still don't. Anyway, it is trivial really.
Oh, and please let's try to avoid speculation and racism until we know who did it. Sure, some extremist Palestinians could have done it, some extremist orthodox jews could gave too, Afganistan muslims, Cubans, Russians, Serbs, or any other belligerant people in this world, or even another American home boy like in Oklahoma City.
Tie will tell, and the perpetrators will be punished, that's for sure.

my dad, was one of the people who worked on the makeing of the blue prints for the World Trace Center, NYC Port Authorty....so it hit home with me, AND A CLOSE FRIEND OF MINES, Friend was a body gaurd for a vip there, and no one knows of his status, but what we can only assume, is well....you all know.....PLEASE PRAY FOR PEACE!!!!!

Wow... Speechless is a good word to describe me for most of the day, which is rare. As we watched on TV in school this morning, it appeared to be a horrific accident... Then, another plane crashed into the WTC, and it suddenly seemed to be something far more sinister. Next, the headline "Explosion reported at the Pentagon." At this point, several students are becoming increasingly upset and worried. For the rest of the day, we watched as buildings collapsed, fires burned, people died, and heroes were made... Truly unbelievable.
As I sit here and think about it, I wonder what is to come next. The death toll is certain to be at least four, if not five figures... With thousands and thousands more grieving their loss. How I see it, we will go on, but with much pain...
I, too, have heard it described as our generation's Pearl Harbor. I sincerely hope not. Pearl Harbor began the U.S. involvement in the largest war in history. I do not want to see that destruction repeated. While I feel retaliation is necessary, I don't believe we need to start a large war to get our revenge.
I've said this a few times today... My heart goes out to all touched by this tragedy... Not just the dead, wounded, and their families, but everyone... The EMTs, charging into the carnage to help, with the images of it permanently etched into their memories... The bystanders who helped them, and experienced the same... The people who barely escaped with their lives... And indeed, those who, tonight, aren't sure whether they'll awake to order or chaos tomorrow morning, all over the world... We all need to pull together, to be strong, and to be resolute. We will continue. The world will go on. It must, and we must... My two cents.

Its times like this the nation will come together to show how strong we are. We can overrcome many difficult obsticals together. With each others support, we can certainly attempt to piece together what has been lost in our great nation. Free Trade will never be the same after this day. The incident is certainly one of great magnitude, I surely hope all shall be joined in piecing back what has been lost in each and ever one of us today. Let us give thanks that our lives have been spared, and let us give thanks that this great nation is prepared for what may come. Thank you my fellow Americans and God Bless.

Hopefully this is a coincidence and the terrorists can't add. but if this is correct there will either be acts of terrorism every day for the next few days or a grand event the last day.
