Prayers needed
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 by RPGFX | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Hey WC community... I know this is a great place to get people together praying for someone, so I have a request. My wife is a teacher, and one of her former students was attacked and beaten while walking home from picking up a pizza. He is in ICU with head trauma, and swelling/bleeding on the brain. He is in very critical condition. His name is Chris Kernich, he's 23 years old and was one of my wife's favorite students ever. A really great kid. I can't imagine why this happened to him, but please pray for him and his family.... thank you.

Well my wife just got a call about an hour ago... Chris has died. He was a great kid, and his passing will be felt deep in our local community. Please pray for his parents...

What a terrible waste of life: The single most precious thing any of us has.
What a tragedy for his parents. The saddest event in this world is for a parent to bury a child.
My heart goes out to them. May they find the strength to go on and find meaning for the rest of their lives.

the above is a picture of Chris in my wife's class at the age of 14. He was just 23 last weekend.

Now two lives are senslessly destroyed, Chris' and the man that committed murder. This is becoming an all to common sign of our times. My prayers to Chris' family in their time of loss.

I really feel for his family at this terrible, terrible time. They must be absolutely devastated. I also feel for your wife at this time, RPGFX, she obviously thought highly of Chris and this tragedy would have a profound effect on her.
Thought and condolences to all (friends and family) who have been affected by this tragic loss.

My condolences to the family and friends of Chris, a life way too young to be taken.... Even tho I never knew him these words just came to me and I felt the need to share them here

Today we all remember you,
And bid you one last goodbye,
Celebrate the life you’ve had
And maybe have a cry.
You’ll never be forgotten Chris,
We will just close our eyes and see,
Your smiling face and feel your love
And you’ll be close to us.
You had such a short life,
So many have so less,
It was your time, the Angels came,
And placed you with the best.

thanks everyone for the words. His family is aware of the things you guys have said here. And my wife said alot of teachers were googling him and finding my "blog" here on some "Wincustomize" site... and the people there had alot of nice words for Chris and his family.
Also, wanted to mention that the Cincinnati Bengals (specifically Chad Ochocinco) dedicated their game today to Chris' memory through Twitter. They beat the in-state rival Cleveland Browns 16-7.

This thread is so old, I don't know if you guys will even find it buried... but I wanted to mention something that I forgot to on this thread... a few months after his passing, Chris' family came out in the news saying that Chris was going to be a dad... apparently his girlfriend was newly pregnant when he died. She and the family knew at the time, but kept it quiet at first because of all the local media craziness. She has since had the baby, he's about 6 months old now. My wife and I have seen him out with his mother a few times, and although we don't know her, we of course recognize them from all the media. He's a gorgeous little boy, and I'm sure his dad is looking down on him proudly. Thanks again for all the support you guys showed this family.
