Help with a dock background please....
Friday, October 30, 2009 by BoXXi | Discussion: Skinning
Hi Guys..... I made this dock background, but I don't know what to do with it! Do I just upload it in a zip file, or do I need to do other stuff? Will it even work as a dock background because of the texture? Any tips you can give me would be much appreciated. I have made docks before, but it's such a long time ago that I can't remember!!
Thank you!

hehe poke around in the folders in your object dock and see whas there you should be able to use one of your old docks to build the new set with less work..

If you can do a rainlendar, you can do docks.
for a basic dock, you need the image and an .ini file.
But you will need objectdock to test it. The freebie version will do fine for testing a non tabbed dock

hey BoXXi we cannot miss your beautiful wooden texture dock !!
maybe you'll recall ... looking the simple .ini file below, the example is for "top\bottom positions only"
(If needed I'll be glad to be a beta tester ! ) ![]()

Hey BoXXi! That looks good and I'm sure it would work. If you send it to me I'll stick it in a background.ini....test it ans send it back to you. Might be good to add a side dock with it as well but the perspective docks don't work well on the sides...so just make a matching plain one for the side.

The easiest thing to do is copy an existing dock background folder, overwrite the images with your own, and start tweaking text files. ![]()

heyt bro that looks awesome..I do remeber that they need config files included within the folder for each dock style top bottom sides and tiles etc.. has been quite a bit since I played with them too. I'm not sure what if any thing has changed...
