Windows 7 Launch Week!

It is just a matter of days until the general release of Windows 7! For the past couple of months, many of us have had the final version via resources like MSDN, TechNet, etc. and I think I can speak for many here, that Windows 7 is a definite “must have” upgrade. I am running several copies on everything from a Netbook to a higher-end PC, and the performance is top-notch, and in my un-scientific opinion, much faster than XP.
I wanted to post some resources to help users get more information just in case you haven't been keeping up.

This would have to be the only Windows OS I have been excited about. Goodbye clunky old Vista, hello streamline 7.

You have never lived fully until you have gone through the days of using Vista! Well, I used Vista early before but backtracked to XP. Then used Vista again much later on when everything seem to have settled down.

I pre-order an upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit for $50 so I won't be getting that probably untill next week.

I have ordered my copy of Win7. Just one thing. The actual version number is 6.1 but they are calling it windows 7. who knew

MS's numbering system has always been a bit off......but the Build Number is 7600 ....

Does anyone, who has been using Win 7, have any suggestions for a good how to use or companion book for Win 7 that would be good to pick up? Is one needed?

Philly, don't waste your money. It's pretty much the same UI as Vista but it just runs a heck of a lot sweeter.
The only thing I find myself missing is the Classic view of the control panel.

Philly, If you used XP its different and you will have more learning to do. If you use vista it 7 is different but not hard to find your way around. There are already books available if you do a search for "learn windows 7" you will find information. If you like clicking on things and looking around that will work for you also. depends on the person I guess. I never used books for regular tasks but I do use the Internet sometimes when looking to do specific things. There are so many great people on here I would think if you had a specific question someone would be here to help you. I know this doesn't answer you exact question but I have done well without books to learn to get around on an OS. With that said I'm sure I'm still missing things that a good book may have in it.

Win 7 is the first MS OS that I haven't BSOD'd into submission.
They said Win 2K was rock-solid....they were wrong.....I'd crash it at least 3 times a day...without raising a sweat.
XP would do it without my intervention....hey, mum...look....no hands...
So far the only way to kill Win 7 is to turn the darn computer off....
