Cannot Add Shortcut To Dock - Please Help (SOLVED)

I've been using Object Dock for months and months, i have plenty of shortcuts to files, folder, programs, sites, docklets etc and have never had a problem with anything until now.

 

In the System32 directory (C:\Windows\System32\) there is a program called fsquirt.exe (horrible name I know). This is the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard for Windows. I can create a normal shortcut to this program and it works perfectly. As soon as I put the shortcut in Object Dock i get an error saying it cant find the file. If i try and add the shortcut through browse it cant see the file.

 

Does anyone know why this is and how i can fix it?

 

Please help, i really need this shortcut.

I figured it out. I copied the exe into another folder (documents) and then created a shortcut to the new location and it worked. Clearly OD didnt like a shortcut to an exe in the System32 directory.

have you tried dragging the exe straight to the dock?

Hm. This is weird. You right-click on the dock, pick "Add Entry -> Add New Shortcut," and when the dialog box opens, the file doesn't appear in the filelist in the given directory? It's completely invisible to OD? I ask because it seems to me that if you can manually navigate to it, you should be able to see it in this dialog. Could you post side-by-side screens where it appears in a standard Explorer window and not in a browse for file dialog?

Bad News:

I contacted support and they said as OD doesnt support 64bit they couldnt help.

 

Good News:

I figured it out. I copied the exe into another folder (documents) and then created a shortcut to the new location and it worked. Clearly OD didnt like a shortcut to an exe in the System32 directory.

I'm guessing here but fsquirt permissions on my system are set to full control for the system, but read & execute only for "user" Object dock is a "user" process. I wonder if that prohibits fsquirt from running under OD.
