Maximized Captions location in SK6

Sunday, September 27, 2009 by JSpencer2000 | Discussion: Skinning

Hi again.

So I am working on my window borders. Even while using the original templates image for the maximized caption setting, the image is shifted off screen. Where do I change this? Ive tried adjusting painting margins but no luck. I must be missing something some where. Text is line up fine, I found that, but i cant figure this images setting.

Depending on your design, you can use the exact same image for the maxed caption that you used for the normal caption...then just set all the margins and text settings exactly the same too.

When using an extra image for the Max caption you will have to trial and error the width of the image some, it doesnt line up correctly.

A lot of WB skinning is.. trial and error and when first starting...picking apart other skins.

Yeah. I may follow stardocks lead on this image where they just made a whole new image that has no transparency in its main viewing area. If i use my current image for border top the corners stretch way out. If i use painting margins its stretched out of the screen. I cant get the rounded corners to show. Im assuming this may be because i cant use transparencies on the maxed caption. Im using per pixel frames.

Thanks again. I know ive been asking a lot of questions lately. I appreciate the responses very much. Ive noticed you two infact being the ones who respond to most peoples help. So extra thanks to + Karma shots. JSpencer2000 injects Karma.

Cheers

u can use transparency on max caption however, it appears its designed to push the corners off the screen as to act like a maximized bar 'should' . If you put space outside the corners it'll push them in and make them visible.

Hmm. Well as a test i used my same top border image which does have space between the pixels with color and the border. If I dont use margins it just stretches the image. If I use margins it the space with transparency is pushed out anyways. Are you suggesting i change the margin so it doesnt cover the corners that have trans?

He is saying that you can draw a new image (call it maxed title or something). Add blank canvas to the sides of the image thus pushing the corners in.

Trial and error.......keep adding untill you are satisfied. If the top gets chopped off, increase the OS Caption Height in the extra tab in the caption section (not the Maximized Caption section).
