Skinners: Need Window Shadow suggestions.

Sunday, September 27, 2009 by JSpencer2000 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

So ive been working on my skin here. I got to the window borders and im using perpixel. My shadows show up extremely hard and accented and obvious. I was curious if any of you have any suggestions on what layer blending method i should use in photoshop for the shadows. Drop Shadow? Outer Glow?

Using outerglow if i swap the color to 0 0 0 i get nothing and if i mess with the settings a bit it turns out to pronounced and the grabber / size adjusting arrow for the window border starts way up above the window. Well, obviously its starting at where the shadow ends it seems.

So again, anyone care to share there settings for a shadow?

I use the drop shadow in Photoshop and set it somewhere between 30% and 40% opacity.

Just use dropshadow, set to Normal, opacity and size is up to you, whatever you think looks good.
