Going into hospital soon

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 by Fuzzy Logic | Discussion: Community

Some of you might know I have a bad back. No less than two prolapsed discs in the lower spine. Well next Thursday I'm going into hospital for an injection in my spine. Scans have shown the nerve which goes into my left leg is twice the size of the right...

I should only be in overnight, but I'll have about a week at home recovering.

My back isn't too good right now. After moving my old 21" CRT to make way for a new widescreen, I'm paying for it with extreme pain.

Right now I'm on a maximum dose of Dihydrocodeine and Diazepam, the combined effect of which I'm lead to believe is like taking heroin... Needless to say I have this odd feeling of invincibility

Hope the injection works for you for a while. They worked great for me for a few days, at least until it leaked out.

In the states it's out patient surgury...in and out in about an hour, which is a good thing...over here hospitals can kill you.

Needless to say I have this odd feeling of invincibility

Good luck, Superman

Hiya Fuzz, I have had 3 x prolapsed and herniated discs removed, alon with 4 very big pieces of prothetic sub assemblies in my spine, making it a total of 7 on the spine, I had the injections, I had the nerve endings burnt, cortezone injections right into the damaged area, then the operations begun, now I go into hospital for the 8th back op, where there are caging with titanium fixation,.....this is going to be my 50th operation in nine years....50.....Knee replacements, debriblements, gentomysan beads, you name it, bone grafts, bone donors, I've had it all done to the the two leags and back, then they ran out of space on the back, scar tissue, to go in anymore, so thye started going through the stomach, which eneded up with an extra 4 x surgical hernia operations, so now I have a titaniu mesh right across my abdomen....for this new one they are going through the side, very life threatening they say, which operation isn't Ha ha ha Ha....I'm on a mixture of the old Morphine sulphates....230 mg in morning, 230 at night, with 20 mg quick acting ones for thoughout the day, plus my variety of oher pain relieving beauties...its like I',m bloody sleep walking half the time, it does help me with my stories though Ha Ha ha Ha Ha.......so with no further ado, I can honestly say like some of theother folks here, they jnow how you feel and feel for you......I hope this injection works, try and keep away from surgery as long as you can, I mean I'm only 44, my operations are older than me Ha ha ha ha ha HA Get well soom Mr Logic, you're a real talented man with a gift, be it not pole vaulting Ha ha ha Ha Ha....just remember when the pain trolley comes around its the best part of the day ha Ha ha Ha Ha

When I think of the pain that Dale has, and what he has gone through....and despite all that still contributes all he can here I gain a fuller respect for my mate from The Royal Marines....you're one helluva man Dale Jr. and I'm honored you're my friend.

A toast to you mate! One helluva man!

I've had a spinal fusion (two discs), bone spurs burned out of my right shoulder, and go every three months for nerve blocks in lower spine. Just had mu first double nerve block a week and a half ago. I feel for you.

Follow instructions.

Don't lift.

Rest and be well.

I'll be thinking about you.

Wow this is some kind of news!

I sure hope everything goes well and you get feeling better soon Fuzzy... I hate pain and also live with it here daily. But I've learned not to be taking too much of those pain pills. Seems they work great at first and then you get to where you are not feeling as good as you want with them.

But I know you that - so be careful and take care... we need you back here when get better.

Hi, FL, my prayers will be with you. I, too, have a bad back - arthritis and a dislocated something-or-other, and I'm in pain almost all the time. Get well soon, so you can keep putting out the good stuff you do!

re #36 What a lovely pair. Makes me want to have a nibble. Somehow, after seeing those two, a Big Mac seems so inadequate. Those are two enormous burgers
