This means that some government sponsored entity like Acorn will have committees in your neighborhood who will check into what you eat, whether you smoke, and whatever else they dream up to monitor your life.
That's not quite what it means...it means if your neighborhood wants to receive a grant an entity like Acorn will have committees in your neighborhood to check on what you eat, whether you smoke and whatever else they dream up to monitor your life. If you don't want to be monitored, the answer is simple...don't apply for a grant!
Personally, I don't think I'd mind having my life monitored. I'm rather overwhelmed trying to make it work myself, so if a government entity wants to give me money and teach me how to live longer and healthier, I'm not all the opposed to it. Sometimes you just have to face the monster and ask yourself whether he's that much of a threat that you need to keep running.

Not trying to offend anyone but it would seem to an observer that discussions like these and in fact how our Government is run will always come down to a split on what the two political parties feel is what we need or more appropriatly what they see as the needs of all Americans are.
Yes it is our two party system that has, for better or worse, made what America is today.
I seem to remember having to read stuff during those long years in school about 'a county united' and a 'house divided'. Anyone else remember that?

Accept what? This country was founded by people who would not just 'accept it'. What people like Glen Beck are doing is trying to defend our freedoms by telling us things that we would not hear from other sources....so we dont sit idly by while our rights and liberties are stripped away.
I don't think so.
Glen Beck isn't trying to protect anyone. He gets paid to tell half truths and bald lies, along with efforts to frighten people.
His overly sensitive/concerned style is rather 'B movie" acting at best and truly amateurish.
As for Who founded this country? My relatives, among many others, and it was originally settled not by people seeking religious tolerance for all, rather the privilege of being intolerant to others (Puritans).
I will accept that Beck has freedom to speak (unfortunately, not responsibly most of the time) and I would fight to the death for his right to that speech.
I believe that it is important to relate, however, to what I wrote, Xiandi:

All you had to do was look there to see what Obama is really like. You don't go to a church for 20 some years without believing in the message that's being delivered and the methods thereof.
The American people shook that one off like it was nothing. Didn't want to hear it.

The election may be over but the REAL man, the one nobody cared to accept as real, is in power now. That makes it all the more dangerous.

You don't go to a church for 20 some years without believing in the message that's being delivered and the methods thereof.
If you're a ruthless politician, you sit through whatever you have to, in order to procure the illusion that you care about something, so that those who truly DO care, think you care, too. Sometimes, if you want your significant other to think you care, or that you agree with her religious views, you do whatever SHE wants you to, also, because as the bumper sticker says, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."
I sat through MORE than 20 years of church messages, (was even married to a pastor for 17 years) and today I'm a hard core atheist. There was a period of about 12 years I would have put myself up for martyrdom for my faith, too -- I wasn't a luke warm Christian during those years; I was a true believer, I home-schooled my children, took part in abortion protests, stocked up on food in case "the evil liberals" came to put me in re-education camps, so I could hide from them in my basement....there sometimes comes a time when a person finds some flaws in the message they've heard for so long -- an epiphany, if you will, where a little bit of doubt takes root, and it doesn't necessarily have to come at the hands of any particular messenger.
I personally think Obama attended the church of Rev. Wright for purely political purposes. And when the message went contrary to those purposes...so did Obama's membership.

Ahhh...and Phoon knows 'the real man'. LOL. All you, and everyone else knows is what's fed to you. If you don't have first hand knowledge (i.e. good buddies, play b ball together, etc.), don't present what you think you know as fact. It isn't. It's just one more opinion.

Man...I can't believe people actually continue to think the president of this country runs anything. He's just a puppet for the real ones running this country and the rest of the world for that matter (Uh oh! Tinfoil hat moment! 
)...mainly the owner/operators of the private non-government entity known as the Federal Reserve. You know...the ones every PAYtriot bends over for every April like good little subservient's to pay towards the ever increasing and impossible to repay interest (which they do not owe) on the money (created out of thin air) borrowed at your expense (kind of like credit card theft)...and every generation to follow...that you will never benefit from for ever increasingly ridiculous out of control government spending.
There are worse things to be concerned about than healthcare. Besides...you really didn't think anything of any real worth would ever pass did you? They do this to everyone every election year (make lofty promises) and everyone always fall for it. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

I apologize for sticking that health care thing in, but it illustrates the nature of the Obama/Democrat administration. It isn't optional (the health plan). It's purpose is coercive; to change the workplace, the schools, and your personal life. If eating potato chips makes you fat, then you'll have to stop. Just imagine them coming into your residence, weighing the whole family, and telling you what you have to do in the name of health care.
It would be a mistake to not fight against the intrusion. The Cash For Clunkers invasion into computers is only one example (as far as I know, that agreement was removed a while ago because so many people complained, by the way); this health bit is just another example of their style. The White House also had a snitch program for people to report to them what they called "misinformation" about the health care plans. Some people ended up getting e-mails from Obama-supported organizations for no apparent reason. They have since cancelled that, as well.
The price of health insurance would drop if the government didn't make it illegal for companies to offer insurance across state lines.
Doc, do you really think it's wise to just sit back and let them do whatever they want? People who were opposed to George Bush didn't remain the least bit silent just because he won the election.

television is a circus freakshow created by large private businesses to perpetuate fear into the large majority of uneducated/unquestioning people.
the video itself is not scary(its bullshit), but the thought of how many people blindly accepting what they have stated as truth, is.

I won't disagree with you about that -- but "true believers" don't jump ship when their teacher is exposed -- true believers stand by their heros, through thick and thin, and are willing to be burned at the stake for their faith. If the man was willing to jump ship when his teacher was exposed, then the man was never a true believer. I really don't want to have to give a dissertation on the parable of the sower at this point in my life.
