Never one to rest for very long, I've been playing around with a new design

Yep....I agree also. The solid green stripes looked better to me...maybe an animation in those stripes...like some skins have on the taskbar buttons? A flash..Subdued...with an elegant panache.

I think so too (one stripe is also easier from a skinning point of view)
I tried that......it looked kinda cheesy 
but I will play with the idea.
The green stripe will be tweaked in any case

I wonder...is it possible to add the kind of 'glint' animation that Infinity ver. 1 has in the start button to the green bars? Might not look good...dunno. You have good taste and skills Tim...you judge.

Nicely done. I like the graduated color. Maybe, just for S&G's, have the green brighter in the middle, and darker at the ends? You know, just for comparisson sake?

Oooo, hey getting much better. But I think the ends of the green need to be a bit darker, not much, but a bit. Almost like a flouresent light tube that is fading out on the ends, but still bright in the center, ya know???
I love the touch in the rectangle as well....very subtle, yet eye-catching.

Thats looking real nice. Something else to try...let a little of that green glow bleed over onto the black stroke around it...following the change in intensity but not blown out too much.

A bit better?
Personally, I liked the single green bar on each side better. Possibly what IR was saying was that they needed more depth. A 3-D feel, maybe?
