Topaz sounds neat. I was really just looking for anything. Still lots to do of course, this is just an initial mock-up.

I like it. It has a very soft, pleasant color. How about "Cool Blue" for a name?

Just take your time. It will be a good looking cursor.

Blue Spade. Looks like the card suit to me. Turqoise Spade?

I would definitely use this (unless, during the "busy" cursor, it turns into a robot or a giant bug, or some sort of futuristic space vehicle -- there are a lot of cursors that seem to be created for 7-year-old boys).

Variety is the spice of life.

It's a shame that some folks can't complement a persons work without trashing someone else's work.

Yes, it is.

It's also a shame when someone can't be open and honest about their own personal opinion without that comment being taken as "trash".

This is very soothing, fr4nk3nstein.  I would definitely use this (unless, during the "busy" cursor, it turns into a robot or a giant bug, or some sort of futuristic space vehicle -- there are a lot of cursors that seem to be created for 7-year-old boys).

I don't think you'll have to worry about that, LOL. I haven't even thought of something for the "busy" state... much less how to even animate it! I might need some help later on with that stuff...

Feel free to PM me when you are ready, I'll help you any way I can.

For now here are some things to keep in mind when creating a cursor:

A busy cursor does not have to be animated but it must look different than the normal cursor so the user will know the computer is busy.

The text cursor must be thin enough to fit between the text. I've seen text cursors that stood two lines high and wide enough to cover three characters.

The precision cursor must be precise. If it does not come to a pin point it's non functional. Avoid big fat precision cursors.

The working in background cursor. Unlike the busy cursor, the user can still work while the computer is in this state. The working cursor must be able to point at things. It can't be flipping around, pointing ever which way.
.

Good Luck!

You left one out. The pointy end always goes in front.

It's a mater of choice, some people don't like animation(I do). I'm just saying if it's not animated it should not look exactly like the normal cursor.
