Helping WC Community Members

Over the last couple of weeks we have had some negative drama on WinCustomize. The weather widget alone has caused a ton of frustration alone, so I wanted to do something to bring some positive vibes to WC, and to show that we are a community.
Since the economy is in a bad situation, I know we have many members on WC who have been hit with very hard times. Trying to help someone who has lost a job for instance can be difficult, but I do know things like hobbies and friends can make a difference in attitude, which is a big step in moving again in the right direction.
I wanted to put an offer out there for people that might want to help other members with a WC subscription or even software gifts. There are people here who would like to contribute to the community, and we would like to give a helping hand in getting them started if they can’t do it on their own.
I’m going to start the ball rolling by offering 2 WinCustomize subscriptions for two people who are not current subscribers. Just tell us in 50 words or less why you would like to have a WC subscription, and what the community means to you. You need not give any personal details about your situation if you wish, I would just like to hear how skinning and the community might help you in general.
If there are any other community members that would like to help, I would recommend gifting applications to someone which is easily done in Impulse. Perhaps an upcoming skinner that needs a full version of WindowBlinds for instance, instead of relying on the trial or friends to test, for instance. If you would like to do that, you can PM me with details.

I was wondering the other day how you were skinning blinds for so many months while still showing Visitor not Customer....

wow- the idea is pretty cool- even if its old and dusty probably by now
iam listed to be here since 12/20/2005 but this is my second account i first discovered WC in 2002 i think.
It all began with icons then animated icons or gifs i always liked these things as kid i gathered them like others gathered pokemon cards...
As a Teen i painted a lot of walls with graffiti not just tags i made character walls and didn't just bomb the place-
i was Caught and had to suffer for it since i wasn't doing it legally Wincustomize helped a lot over that period since...
I stumbled across WC and didn't even had a clue about Windowblinds or the other products
I created a new account in 2005 i dont realy know why i did but i did and from there i started looking into wc every week.
through Wincustomize i gathered large input of ideas and creativity i bought my first Photoshop and learned everything on my own watched tuts and soaked it all up trying to get better...
Suddenly i discovered ZBrush and that's where things started turning from bad to good...made a view clay´s and started to get better and now i got a good job where i can make models all day long...
I bought my first Objectdock suite and began to skin after a while thanks to this awesome community...i started to give something back since there is so much free stuff here + you get help and honest feedback... I love this page even if i cant communicate with others extremely good because my english isn't the best...
Here comes the thing...
MUST SAY I NEVER ( SORRY ) bought a WC subscription- 
not because i don't like Wincustomize - i always thought giving the community something back in form of a skin or wallpaper would do...im sorry i feel a bit ashamed if i read that almost everyone here had subscribed at least once...
I had and still have set myself a cash limit and as geek you always invest in new cool stuff be it hardware new cables new fans or watercooling systems towers graphics you name it and that shit is expansive lol...New versions of CS or ZBrush...And we all know that these things come out every damn week sometimes i even get them earlier....
IM sorry that i didn´t subscribe but after reading this im willing to gifting a WC sub to someone - since i was an outsider so long it would look like im trying to get a tab on the shoulder if i would buy myself one so yeah i do the opposite and give 1 to someone else 
so if you know someone ID let me know...

My sub renewal will have to wait a bit. Gov. (dipshit) Corbett decided to put and end to everyone's cash assistance. Even though it was supposed to be temporary, six months, I ended up with just two. But its all good. I got my own place now and the streets are history.

In the same vein . . I'd like to see a stronger Master/Apprentice program. Where a master takes on a specific skinner (in addition to just helping out everyone) amd tries to make them great. Greater than the Master. And they'd have to submit thier Master-piece to a board of Masters/mods etc to be accepted.
Crazy talk and off topic . . carry on. Sorry for the interuption.
good idea,,but i cant see that happining..a master halping someone..iv tryed to get help in the past ,but hit a wall everytime ,i still cant get anyone to explain how they do the cool animation on the windowblinds,,trust me it will never happen ,,but still a good idea..

I must say that I kind of resent that remark. I try to help anyone/everyone who asks. 
So does Xiandi, Tim, Vampothika, k10w3, and Harley....etc..

Actually, there's a great way k10w3 thought of... and it would create a great Community project as well.
It would involve a pair to start with: Journeyman-Apprentice or Master-Apprentice. They would pass skin parts back and forth. The Journeyman and Master would critique and teach "how to do it" or, "how to do it differently".
Could certainly work... more power to Karen for having thought of it. She also conceived of this as a way to do Community Projects a bit differently: One which really would build the Community and improve the art.

I'll donate two subscriptions, as well, if anyone needs/wants and so forth. Though not in this name I've been a member of the site as long as Tiggz. (Actually, he and I joined, I think, the same week as each other) hehe.

what was your old name....
masters have always been renowned for helping skinners and passing on their critiques and tips.... as some do it for many, many years.... as newer masters come along the baton often gets passed.... I've seen heaps of examples of this both in the forums and behind the scenes....
maybe someone will be good enough do a wiki tutorial for the animations if there isn't already one, at some stage...

Did I mention I use a public version of blinds. I have to reinstall my OS every 30 days to reuse for 30 more days , lots of time to do this, could be skinning with this time instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
