Top taskbar not skinning correctly *Solved* (or so I thought)

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 by 2of3 | Discussion: Skinning

This is a strange thing.

First image: Single hight taskbar on the top of the screen

Second: Double hight on top (is how it should look)

Third: Single hight on bottom (how it should look on the top)

The quicklaunch goes behind the startbutton and the gray button under the resizing grips (also behind the startbutton) is as far as I can tell the normal state image for the push buttons!

When I pull the taskbar down to double hight, everything pops into place.

I assumed it was something wrong with my skin untill I tried a couple of others. The isssue happens with several other skins that I tested (stardust by stardock design to name one)

Ok.

Another duh moment brought to you by 2of3!

The fix was a simple one. I adjusted the quicklaunch text margins by 1 pixel and it all popped into place! Thanks to Harley for giving it a look see

Crap!

I take it back. It seemed to work, but then I moved the taskbar and the same issue occures no matter what!

Thanks to Quentin for steering me to the answer https://forums.wincustomize.com/312258

It was the fact that my startbutton image was a couple of px higher than my taskbar image
