Strange person....but sad all the same.

I remember losing Hendrix and Joplin in one week....THAT was a bad week.

Wow...I thought I was the only one who was thinking about that, Jafo!....then Hendrix went in 1971... Sheesh. I used to get the willies just looking at my records.

I danced around and sang along with the Thriller album... he got weird after a while but I'll never forget the 80's.

Same here Vstyler, I still have that album too

my hubby and i still have quite a collection of LP's   as do I!

When I moved to Israel my parents threw my records away...when I returned to the States and found out, it broke my heart.

It wasn't the records themselves, but High School and College and all the good and crumby times they represented. Thanks for reminding me, guys.

Listen to Dark Side of the Moon on Vinyl and then listen to the"digitally remastered" version. You will hear a noticable difference between the 2. Vinyl rules!

So did Jacko.

I was never a fan of MJ, but he brought a lot of joy to the World with his music, and for that reason his passing is a sad event.  Howver, it's for his children I feel the most... to lose their father at such a young age is tragic.

I look forward to the truth about Michael finally coming out, assuming that his settlements and those agreements will now expire.

Yeah, I kept my turntable in tip-top condition for the old vinyl that never got put on CD.... and I have a few rarities from the 60's that never made it.

Back to Michael Jackson's passing: that's ALL that has been on TV for the last 3 hours. Not only are they going into his family and music history, but also paying attention to the child molestation charges and etc.... to me that's overkill and sensationalism at a sad time for many, particularly his family.  Let MJ RIP.

3 when you include Ed MacMahon from Johnny Carson show passed away

Yah, I included Ed. Shocked me that Michael Jackson was number 3.

I kinda thought Patrick Swayze was going to be next.

I remember losing Hendrix and Joplin in one week....THAT was a bad week.

It was a sensless way for them to go. I've always wondered how different Rock and Roll would have been if they were still around.

No need to spit on his grave. He was found not guilty why the accusers were found to be liars out for money. He was wierd beyond our normal comprehension. People feel the need to fill the "mystery" of him with what makes them comfortable.

Yeah, a terrible loss. R.I.P. Michael. Also lets not forget Farrah Fawcett. She suffered for a long time. And a big "yes sir!" To Ed MacMahon. All 3 three will be missed.

There was a TON of evidence he was doing things with kids, imo, guilty or not he paid em off, people dont settle in civil court for millions if they are innocent... so what if they were scumbags too.

Still a sad day, meant a lot to a lot of folks...including me , back in the day.

As a person who works in LA and with people who worked PERSONALLY with Mr. Jackson, I can assure you that Michael did indeed do terrible things to poor, vulnerable little boys and paid off their families to get away with it.

The "they were only in it for the money" slander was like O.J.'s "the cops framed me!" legal shenanigans.  Lies presented to create reasonable doubt.

But don't take my word for it.  Over the next few months, you WILL learn the truth, now that there is no reason to hide it anymore.

I don't honor rapists or child molesters, no matter how talented they may have been in other pursuits.

I've seen too much suffering in that arena in my life.

So, yes, please feel free to honor Mr. Jackson's artistic accomplishments all you want, but I won't be joining you.

Peace.

It was a sensless way for them to go. I've always wondered how different Rock and Roll would have been if they were still around.

Ah...have you seen Ozzie lately?  Have you heard the new (not necessarily right now) Guns 'N Roses album?  I've come to the conclusion Rock icons should either die in some senseless way to achieve mythical standing, or go into seclusion like Ronnie James Dio, because they don't get any prettier, and the more they try to Rock when they've past 35 ends up just coming across as pathetic...kind of a characture of what they were when they reached their pinnacle with the public.

As for Michael Jackson...I personally enjoyed some of his 80s music, but I don't consider it "tragic" that he died.  The man sort of seemed plagued by his own demons and he lived a richer life than any of us here ever will.  "TRAGIC" is the fact that we have soldiers dying on foreign soil every single day and don't give it a second thought!  Young men and women who have just barely ceased being children, perishing for our protection without any of the thrills and fame that Mr. Jackson had, without a nation even knowing they should be mourning their passing is what I call tragic.
