er months of buggering around in C4D I think I might just be ready to try pull off a true Chrome windowblind.. You know. not just metallic looking gradients and highlights, but real, rendered, reflective materials and about as far away from Vista as I can possibly imagine going, at least regarding material composition.

Aaahhh... my favorite color "Chrome" black contrast would be the best, blue might end up looking kinda cheesy in the end. Back to the basics... Black and Chrome! Well black gloss anyway. Nice work.
