I just asked because I noticed the " finished " remark in the thread. Also with the wallpapers being posted and the other themes from different categories based on this led me to wonder if it might be an exclusive from your site only.

My opinion on the matter: It's your stuff, do what you want. You've had the WIP thread on here for nearly a month with regular updates and have now added the finished remark to the thread. Most people know where to get it if isn't here. Essentially it's been advertised here since June 5 without providing the info on where to get it unless one were to look at your profile and see what you have set as your home page and then actually go there and spot it.

Do I agree with the practice.. no I don't. If Stardock wants to be left out of the first few weeks of sales on this (which will obviously be a huge one) then I guess that is their battle to wage not mine.

Wincustomize is happy to support skinning and skinners.  We do not ask for exlusive download rights from any skinner that uploads the WinCustomize.

We  wish the best to all teh skinners who try to maximize their profit on other sites befoer making use of the HUGE marketing that WincCustomize provides.

Dead wrong, I can assure you it isn't.. in fact, I wish folks knew how very little we make off these skins for the time invested, might think differently about it. I'm not complaining by any means, It's my choice to do this for a living, but fyi.. its less than part time Macdonalds work. I just keep at it in the hopes that that will improve soon.

The icons are Footure by MrSkope  lightened slightly and a about 5% medium blue added to match the theme.

For me is right that a skinner can choose in which site upload his work, especially if the site is of the skinner, john make this for living and it's right that promote hisself and try to maximize your profit, but i think that is not only a question of money but a way for promote his image trough more sites so more chances of work, is important that the people know your name....then this type of thread is not pubblicity, there is no link to any site and there is the possibility too that the skin don't appear because the author change his project....it's already success....uff it's hard explain my thoughts in english for me

I think the WIP threads are good for WC and the community. They generate interest in skinning and showcase some great talent, from both established skinners and up and coming "Masters-to-be". It's also a good way to get feedback from the end users(us) as to what they want or like in a WB. This also furthers the cause of customizing.

I don't see them as ads,more like a "Look what I made" kind of thing. If a WIP thread increases downloads or sales,it's all good. Either way it is encouragement to continue skinning,so we all win.

This has been one of the biggest reasons why I've done WIP threads for my Windowblind skins. The help/advice of more experienced skinners is invaluable.
