The most anticipated Windowblinds skin in history

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 by MadDeez | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

As a few of us have known for quite some time, WOM has been working on his first WB skin for a few years now. Obviously, he's had to update numerous images and add features with each new release and update to Windowsblinds. Well, word has it he's in the final steps of crafting this piece of art and it'll be released sometime within the next 2 to 3 years. Although, he's never allowed ANYONE to see a preview of it, I'm sure it'll rival anything released by the most reknowned skinners of today. WOM has labored hard thru some tough times to bring this WB skin to us commoners. I, for one, am looking forward to using the final product. Whatever the cost, as I'm sure it'll be a Master Skin, it'll be worth it.

I might have him beat. I've had an IconPackage I've been working on since June of 2004. In all fairness it was nearly compete and then I lost it twice in 2006 to HDD issues...

When you look at the bigger picture, 2 or 3 years is but a fleeting moment in time.  Compared to the 100 Year War... or for Evolution to decide that dinosaurs had passed their use-by-date, it's just the blink of an eye.... a drop in the ocean, so to speak.

Besides, WOM has a life outside of what's going on inside his PC.... and he has to take toilet breaks like any other skinner.  OK, age and incontinence may make those breaks more regular than those of the young guns here, but hey, none of us is getting any younger, and I say we give WOM a break... several (a day) if he needs them.

So yeah, take your time, WOM, quality is more important than quantity, and that's not done ina hurry... just so long as you're done before I'm toes up and the embalmers have moved in.

Dog gone it.  Now the whole world knows I'am in the final stages of my long awaited WB.  I thought I'd beable to get it out in the next 2-3 years but then MS is going to come out with W7.  That might add a few more years.  Just when I'am about ready they come out with a new OS.  Oh well.

Why would you need like three years to craft a skin?
I mean i know making a really good skin getting everything perfect and looking sexy but three years?

Ahem, this would have been a WIP thread that would have rivalled the 'Word Association' thread. War and Peace, both the Old and New Testaments combned.  Evolution was faster, but hey, if vStyler is allowed time off to go karaokiing, WOM is entitled to pace himself and calculate frequent toilet breaks into his skinning endeavours.  And going to school with Moses didn't help, either, That relatively unknown 11th Commandment (the one Moses drummed into him) : "Thou shalt not commit skinning on the Sabbath." has interfered something awful in his project.....

WOM, in his observance of the Sabbath (and so as not to offend anyone he observes them ALL) only skins on Monday evenings between the hours of 9.00pm and 12.00am.... so if it's running late, blame his old school chum, Moses.

However (and it's a BIG however), I don't swallow this Win 7 'delay'.  Sure Win 7 is a huge event on the PC horizon, and hasn't gone to RTM as yet, but that is no excuse not to release a Vista and XP version. These OSes have been RTM and updated for years, so a release of "the most anticipated WindowBlinds skin in history is not only overdue but expected within the VERY NEAR future. Toilet breaks and all - observance of a multitude of Sabbaths - there needs to be a WIP or a beta release at the very least.

* to be honest, WOM, XP is on its last legs and is doomed to go the way of Win 95, 98 and ME, so give 'em the flick and just concentrate on the Vista edition. Bugger the rest, just pour all your Monday resources between 9.00pm to 12.00am into getting that Vista version happening.   Orright???? *

Anyhow, WOM, I've covered your arse enough already.

Bugger Win 7 and XP, just get that Vista version completed... ASAP!!!

[Misery fell off the radar]

No it didn't!  My first wife, whom I haven't seen in almost 20 years, came to visit me yesterday.  Hence, not only is misery still on the radar, the blip is huge.

Seriously, tho, we actually got on quite well  and shared in some good conversation. Yeah, it turned out pretty good, like the bad old days never happened, so I extended the invitation for future visits if she'd like.

Oh, and I see WOM is still hanging around the threads instead of workin on that "War & Peace" WB of his.   Can't find that damned paint program be buggered.... probably been off down the park feeding the ducks, and needed to stop half a dozen times for toilet breaks on the 10 minute journey home.

Mate, if you can't tie a knot, I hear clothes pegs do a pretty good job.
