Thanking Island Dog and the Wincustomize community
Thursday, May 7, 2009 by amitsaran | Discussion: Community
I joined wincustomize on 8th January, 2009. Im just about to complete my five months here, but I feel so well accepted and well adapted into the wincustomize community that I could not just hold back myself from sharing my experience here in this little time.
First of all, I want to thank Island Dog(Spencer Scott) for his great support and help, when I had just joined I did'nt know much about the way things go on here, I mean simple little things like posting links on submitted skins and small tips on my dreams and logon skins. I took help through his official website- http://www.theislanddog.com/ and I must say that he is a very helpful and kind person. Thanks Island Dog for all the help you provided me.
I get inspired by Carguy's dreams at the dreams gallery, they are sure a perfect creation always.
I admire,
Ausvet for his beautiful BootSkins and LogonStudio skins.
Butch for his WindowsBlinds.
My kind friends Thuglifejunior and Cplair, great snipping they do.
And there are so many which I cant mention here as the list would get too long.......
I thank the whole wincustomize community for their nice comments on my work and their great support.

Funny since he has never made a windowblind.

Thanks, mate...it was Cp who convinced me to start. I can't compete with guys like you, Cp, OnkelTommy, Az...who helped me tremendously in the beginning....and who I think is just a wonderful and generous person...and The Thug...who took sniping to a whole new level. Those guys are the mainstays of the Gallery.
I made the screeny to say "Thank You" to Night Train...which is why I put so little in it besides the skin itself.

Stardock really got a good one when they hired Island Dog. He is a great asset and a great person.

Making a windowblind and porting someone elses work are 2 different things.
Porting the right way- Given credit where credit is due.
Porting the wrong way- Not giving credit where credit is due.

There are so many great people involved in making Stardock and WinCustomize great that it is difficult to list them all. Some are quite visible and we see them every day here in the forums. (You know who you are)Others just pop in when needed and then there are those we never see that work in the background. Each and every one are equally important and deserve our thanks for a job well done.
Then there is the community, made up of such a wide variety of people from so many places,it can truely be called global. Here there are so many catagories of people that again it would be impossible to list them all.I am fairly new here myself and in the short time I have been a member I have been amazed at how quickly the community comes to the aid of its members,be it with advice, support, opinions, sympathy or just a few good laughs.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that YOU (meaning everyone)are the reason we are all here and will keep coming back. Site issues, software problems, even personal differences can't lessen the value of a great company and well.....great company.
Thank You.
/End babble.
