I believve it's pending permissions.  It appeared in the description that some ohter artist's elements may have been used.

It may be in moderation until an email is sent out to you.

As always, we try to protect everyone's rights and if any artist uses another's work they need to include permission to publicly distribute, right?

For a Journeyman you have a very poor attitude towards the site and it's officials. I've noted this quite a few times

In any case, without permission text included, any submissions using other artist's work will not be accepted.  this has always been the policy of WinCustomize.

Again, we are protecting the rights of artists, just like we would protect yours.  Copyright infringment *is* serious and should not be handled lightly.

I'm curious as to the outcome of permissions on this. When purchasing items from Cornucopia, it includes license to use the 3D model in any still or animation as the purchaser sees fit. In this case I would think that permissions are a moot point since the licence creates a form of ownership.

Any item offered up as a derivative,addition,enhancement of anothers work, even one where the rights are bought, should have the license agreement/permissions contained within the upload. Even items offered under GPL or GNU would still have to contain the originating license agreement and any stipulations within followed.

In this case a small text file letting the Mod's know of the state of purchase and transferal of ownership,Copyrights would have been sufficient to qualm any question as to the legitimacy of the upload.

When I spotted it in the Library,I did not think any malicious intent was afoot. Just that Richard had simply forgotten to add the Zipped permission file, as I had no idea you could buy a model from cornocopia and make stuff from it to redistributed. * it wouldnt be the first time a skinner forgot to add the permission or license agreement within an upload, and wont be the last either*

Seems to me that moderation is really hard around here. As this basically implies that all moderators need to be able to interpret any odd licensing agreements supplied. If that's the situation, you're REALLY putting some impressive effort in this. I've done moderating on fairly large forums/sites in the past, I know the hard work required, I can't begin to fathom the magnitude of doing that here...

Moderators at WC do what they can to ensure all artists and their works,interests,etc are protected to the best of our ability. Be it interpreting License agreements to chasing down the occasional spammer.

I have always respected the Staff at WC, but since becoming a mod myself my repect for their ability to do what they do so well and with such composure, has grown 10 fold.

GPL license must be included. Linking to the sourcefile(s) isn't requried, but is allways good manners

Yes, just a link to where it came from showing it includes free use in the authors comments would have been what was needed.  We can't check every site for every piece thats uploaded, that would be a full time job.  And a Journeyman should know this and kmake it easier on himself and the mods.
