I have been getting an extra amount of emails from new users looking for help for common things like “how to change the ObjectDock background”. We have a variety of help resources from “official” ones to the just as important, community-driven content.
It’s been quite a while since we talked about some of these resources, so I figured now was a good of time as any to talk about it again.
- WinCustomize Wiki – This Wiki is one of the best resources available. Much of the content was written by either community members or WC staff themselves, and there are tutorials, guides, and tips covering virtually any topic. Best part, is that anyone can create a tutorial and post it on the site.
- SkinStudio 6 Tutorial – This is the official tutorial for SkinStudio 6. It was written as a guide which guides users through the complete process of creating a WindowBlinds skin. It’s perfect for beginners.
- Screencasts – Screencasts are video tutorials showing features of an application, or how to use it. We have created several already for several applications like Impulse, WindowBlinds, CursorFX, and more.
- WinCustomize Help – The help area on WinCustomize has a vast collection of tutorials, product information, essential articles, and much more. You can find links to most other resources from here as well.
- Skinning.net – This community skinning site has a great tutorial sections, with tutorials on all type of skinning applications.
As mentioned above, many tutorials are from the community, and we always encourage members to contribute with tutorials and guides that can help the community.
