Changing Advanced System Colours
Friday, February 6, 2009 by Nei Zion | Discussion: WindowBlinds Tutorials
I'm looking for the definitions of what the different system color settings are in WB6 for XP. This is the advanced part and not the general color changing screen. It's the link just above "Use HSL based coloring" check box. I can understand most of what's in there, however there are some that I have no idea what it's referring to. The main change I want to make is the "Status" bar on the bottom of Windows Explorer. I'm using the INVI series of skins and this particular part of the skin isn't colored. But my thought is that it's probably in those system colors section, I just don't know where.
Any advice is appreciated.

When I saw this (in tutorials) I thought it was going to be a tutorial for changing advanced system colours...

Daiwa, after looking at those button settings, you're right and unfortunately I can't do that because it messes up my skin. So I guess I'll just have to live with it. However, I appreciate your reply.
Fuzzy, I appreciate the advise. Honestly I didn't realize that slight oversight. Based on Daiwa's response, I think I'm good closing this one out.

I don't believe that section will allow you to selectively change the color of just the status bar - that color defaults to the button face color (3D objects in Display Properties) for unskinned windows - the status bar is almost always skinned, however. I'm pretty sure the colors that subdialog refers to are the ones set in the Classic Colors section of SkinStudio & apply only to unskinned windows, although it appears to also allow you to change some of the skin colors (text, text shadows, etc.).
If INVI does not skin the status bar, then changing the button face color will change the color of the status bar. Will also change the color of unskinned buttons, obviously, as well.
