My new excercise program

Having reach the old age of 60 with most of my motor skills intact I though it would be good for me to get back to some exercising. This looked pretty good and not too complicated so I thought I would pass it on. If you have any you enjoy doing let the rest of know what it is.
EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.
Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.
Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)

* After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag. *
So what do you think? I really feel the 'Burn' with this exercise.

....trying to figure out what you're going to do with two 100-lb bags of potatoes when they start to rot. (Rotting potatoes smell just awful!)

I am not over 50. So I cant tell you my experience.
....And even if you lift 100 lb potato bag = 50 kg potato bag, you should consider that you are lifting 1 kg for each year of your life, when you didnt exercise...hehehe
...1 kg is too low-weight.
....Also you might reduce the weight by repllacing 100 lb potato bags with 100 lb cotton-wool bags ![]()

Hmm, I wonder what the empty 100lb bag/sack that potatoes come in weighs? I don't want to 'over exercise' and change my total figure, I've grown accustomed to looking like a 'pear".

Potato exercise:-
Home made Cottage Pie (my own recipe) for 1 person.
Boil 800g of potatoes. While they are doing, cook your minced beef as follows...
Melt a knob of butter in a small pan, add in a cup full of minced beef.
When the mince has browned, add in a heaped teaspoon of plain flour, then add in a tablespoon of tomato puree.
Mix some beef stock: Take 1/3rd pint of water, add a beef stock cube and 1/2 teaspoon of gravy granules and stir.
Add the stock to your minced beef and simmer until thick.
All that takes about 25mins to cook. When the potatoes are done, add in a knob of butter and some cream (or condensed milk) and mash until creamy.
Put the mince in a small baking dish and put the potatoes on top. Cook in an oven pre-heated to 220C for 20-25 mins.
Eat when done! ![]()

(* for those who might be interested, this is going to be the most geekiest wedding ever. He's presently awaiting an e-mail back from a company that makes game dice, to quote him a price on fifty 16-sided dice, the 16th side with he and his bride's name on it to give as wedding tokens to the guests. He proposed to her over a game of Dungeons and Dragons.)

Philly LOL BUT.. IF the bag is a 100 lb pound, that means the bag itself weighs in at that amount, reguardless of what may or may not be in it

But then I'd actually have to get off the couch. So, Philly...I'd have 'to bag' that idea.
