Explorer menu malfunctions

Just upgraded to WB 6.3 from WB 5 (unused for a while, and uninstalled), and I have two problems:
Whenever I open Windows Explorer and select any of the drop-down menus (file, edit, view, etc.) my desktop clears of all icons, taskbar, OD for a second, then restores to its previous layout (meaning everything looks fine). But no open menu, no open Explorer window. Explorer.exe is still active in Task Manager>Processes, and I'm able to open another Explorer window immediately without problem; except that the menu buttons still don't work, and repeat their behavior. This behavior is not apparent within programs (Office, Firefox, etc... those menus work fine).
Second problem happens when I left-click on Power Options icon in the taskbar. The normal behavior is for it to call up a menu of power profiles for selection. As with the Explorer problem above, all I get when I left-click the icon is a refresh of the desktop. Right-click on the icon opens up an option to open the power profile page (Desktop>properties>screen saver>power); again, normal behavior.
This errant behavior (both problems) is present regardless of skin (using aero metal, W Seven by butch123, diamond), but goes away if I unload WB.
Anyone heard of this problem?

Okay, I'll try. It controls what apps (browser, media player, etc.) open on my second display, but the trade-off may be worth it.

Done. Problem solved.
Is this a bug that will be resolved in a future release?
If not, is there a way to specify which display apps open in (through shortcut properties). It's for our HDTV, used as a Media display, and I want it to be as family-friendly as possible, without having to drag and resize windows. The problem will solve itself in the not-too-distant future when I can scratch together the funds for a dedicated Media PC and not have dual displays.
EDIT: Never mind. It seems that my system remembers which display the respective app windows were closed in, so I apparently don't have a problem as long as they aren't moved to the PC display from the HDTV.

Unfortunately Nvidia's applications seem to have conflicts with many different display-oriented programs. nView, nForce, and the nVidia Control panel are all mentioned - usually along with several vulgar epithets - in forums all over the web. nView and the control panel have given me enough fits that I refuse to run either of them. I'd rather do without than expect every developer to try to design around their pitfalls.
My opinion anyway!
