Windows 7 drivers for laptop?

OK, if this is in the wrong section, sorry, if not,

After downloading the demo/beta/whatever of Windows7, I hit a wonderful obstickle. My laptop does not have drivers for it, nor could I find any for vista (I assume vista ones would work). I have an HP Pavilion dv1000 running the xphome that came with it. I tried installing the xp (only)drivers from the hp site, but they refused to work, insisting that I can not run them on a non-xp system 
. Those drivers are available here.
Can anyone offer any advice/help? Currently I have no working drivers for anything, windows7 cant even see my xp partition, use sound or wifi, It even struggles to play solitaire becasue of the lack of gfx support. I f this is the best I can expect from my hardware, it looks like I'll be sticking with xp forever 
... and Win7 looks so good aswell.

If you plan on staying with Windows 7, you're going to have to go to the individual hardware vendors and get the drivers from them......in many cases you won't find the spcefic version you have listed because it's OEM. You'll need to do a little research and get the driver that is closest to your needs.
My suggestion would be to stay with XP SP3

Windows 7 x64 ....
I have a USB-Serial adaptor (PL-2303 chip) that I use to run my 3D CAD spaceball.
The only way I can get it operational is to use the F8 "Disable driver signature enforcement" option.
I've searched far and wide with no luck finding signed Vista 64bit drivers for the PL-2303 adaptor.
Unfortunely, I'm sure the option to run unsigned drivers will disappear in the Win 7 final release.

If you can get Vista drivers for your laptop try those. Almost no XP drivers will work. It is poissible that some drivers for Vista may not work, but that is going to be rare.
Also you may need to try each device's manufacturer to get Vista drivers.
Is your XP partition NTFS or is it still FAT32?
