There are some backup or disk imaging tools with which you can restore all your disk including partition information, windows installation and all data like
They let you create backup disks or you can even use external hard disks or a pen drive for true restoration of your system.
PS- They dont backup hardwares ![]()

well i checked out acronis and the symantec ghost...they cost money...all i need to do is burn these files onto a bootable dvd disc so when i restart the comp it automatically pops up before loading os and give me the vista installation screen....i am trying to reformatt totally...everything on this comp needs to be wiped clean....my friend got on here and got alot of viruses from those stupid myspace apps....and facebook apps...please someone come with as solution...i went to google and searched for hours only to see tuts that are half ass tuts...even the one on the magic iso site sucks beacause it tells you how to make the bootable but after that its weird telling you to add files and then when you burn it the disc is empty and garbage

Is this a brand name system, Dell, HP, etc.? If so you should be able to contact them directly and get a new recovery CD. A friend recently did so and received the disk set at no charge.

If you have viruses then your first priority should be getting rid of them. Install Avast or Nod32 antiviirus with latest updates.... And run a full system scan. Then scan with ad-aware or spybot.
Formatting your disk is the last option...
Do you want to reinstall Vista?
If yes then you can boot your comp right from your Vista Disk. It has an inbuilt partition manager. Use it instead of other boot disks.
Free alternatives To Ghost:
Or Choose from these , Hope its an easy choice ![]()

Change bios to boot from CD/DVD before HDD.
