Saturday, January 17, 2009 by neophil78 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Since a few weeks now, it's nearlly impossible for me to load any page of Wincustomize. Anyone are so long to load, and in fact seem to a never ending load ...
What's going on ? I've tried to kill all my Wincustomize / Stardock / Impulse cookies, but it does not change anything when new cookies are builded
I get an High Speed câble Internet connection with XP SP3 / IE7
I'd like to get a quick answer from the Wincustomize / Stardock team if possible ![]()
For now, i think it's the worst website i've ever seen

I'm in Singapore on a 100 Mbit/s line. Wincustomize is soooooooo slloooooowwww. It took over 3 minutes to load this thread, and it's been the same for weeks now. The rest of the internet is super speedy.
I'm really bored with Wincustomize now. They moan about subsciptions, but this website has to be the slowest website I've visited over the last year or two.

It looks like problems are there out side the U.S. but they are not showing up here.
No doubt a problem just the same that needs to be addressed. More servers and a location outside the U.S. might be the answer. Unfortunately added costs also.

It may be, but I have no problems with any other site, either in or out of the States. I am fed up hearing about costs..no other forums I use have these problems, and Wincustomize really isn't that big...yes they have 3.5 million 'registered' users, but a very small pertcentage of them access the forums themselves.
Yawn.....(not to you Philly0381, but the infrastructure of Wincustomize)

Hmmm....guess it took the slow boat to China....so to speak. ![]()
The site's been fast over the past 3-4 weeks. I think you might have a local internet/ISP problem, as no one else has been complaining recently.
I think you might try an experiment and try with a friend's computer...especially if he/she has a different ISP.

For me and for major parts of website i'm consulting, all servers are precisely located in US, and i get access on the websites usually faster than a photographic flash ![]()

I can understand the frustration neophil78 and liquidguru.
You and the rest of the folks, that are having problems, do need to email [email protected]. If there is going to be any chance for a fix for the problem then support needs to hear that in fact there is a problem.
Just using myself and yourself as an example, differences in the the systems and OS we are running taken into consideration, what could be causing you and others problems and not me? I'm running XP Home SP3, 32 bit, on a P4 2.6GHz system with 2GB memory. Could it be ISP related? (yes I read you have no problems with other sites) Have you asked your ISP for assistance? In other words eliminate/identify what may be the cause.
Another thought, could it be Anti-virus, Anti-spyware/malware or Firewall related? I run AVG 8 Free, SpywareBlaster and Zone Alarm.
Oh, and I'm not a Stardock person, just a member of the community like you.

Same but with P4 2,8 Ghz
It can't be an ISP trouble neither than AV / Firewall or Anti Spyware as it's the only website whith which there are so much troubles (and it has always been, much or less)
Well if i was the only one to get troubles perhaps i'll ask myself on something's wrong on my machine, but it seems there's at least other people telling about exactly same troubles and not being in same country as me (and only speaking of those who are reporting, which may be a very few part of those who are getting troubles). And [email protected] is done for individual troubles not for mondial ones ![]()
Lots of french Websites are having their servers in US, just because they have faster on the WWW
